I think he will be the coach next season. I’m not convinced he’s the right man for the job going forward next year. But there’s also no guarantee a new coach would do better than he will next year. Now if he stays and doesn’t hire a solid pitching coach fit would hit the shan with fans.

Those girls showed a lot of grit last night against a team that played like a 1 seed. Teagan Kavan showed the kind of mound presence you see from a 3 or 4th year player not a freshman. Huge win for the program! 🤘🤘

It will be interesting to see how the committee treats Texas after that showing. Wouldn’t surprise me if Texas winds up in a really tough regional like Aggieville as a 3 seed.

Wouldn’t shock me if all of the Texas players in bold are drafted (and then some).

That would lock them in a two seed in my opinion. Biggest issue I see is if they get the Aggieville regional draw.

Yep at this point they’re doing better than a lot of us through they would 4-6 weeks ago including myself. As long as they win next the series next weekend they could be in the NCAA tournament regardless of what happens in the conference tournament.

Has anyone seen Tulo in the dugout lately? I did see him in the dugout earlier in the season but in the past month or so I haven’t seen him in there.

Right now most projections I’m seeing are projecting Texas as a 3 seed in the NCAA tournament. Obviously two big series left though. If they win both series and make a decent showing in the conference tournament they should at least be a 3 seed in the tournament.

I agree the program isn’t where it needs to be. We’ve seen areas of big improvement this season (mostly with the offense) and seen regression (mostly with pitching and defense). It’s been a roller coaster no doubt. The Horns might have cracked the top 50 after last weekend. But there are still key games left on the schedule. Regular season champs is still possible.

I gotta give kiddos to coach Pierce and his staff. When LBJ went out early I thought they were done. The bats obviously carried the team which is how this team is probably going to win most games the rest of the way. That was a big series win! Lotta work left to do. Hopefully weather works out this weekend.

They followed up one of their cleanest games of the season (last Tuesday) with their ugliest game of the season. Those 5 errors doesn’t include a wild pitch by Grubbs that ended up scoring a run. Not knocking Grubbs he was solid on the mound but the defense was atrocious.

And someone said high winds too. Not sure whether it’ll be blowing in our out.

Blake question for you. With Pierce being suspended for this Fridays scheduled game in Norman do you know if he is allowed to be with the team during the week? I would assume so but not sure if NCAA suspension rules for baseball are similar to football in that regard.

Lol yeah he’s frustrating at times no doubt. I’ve moved on from him and looking forward to seeing who his replacement is. One thing I wonder is what happens if this team gets hot and makes a run starting this weekend and ends up winning the conference championship. This team has the talent to do it and the conference title is weak enough. Is CDC gonna fire a coach who just one a championship?

This has been an issue with Pierce getting tossed prior to this season. To the point CDC had to step in so I’m told. He had been better this season as this is his first ejection of the season. My issue with his temper tantrums is he doesn’t know when to stop. He completely looses his shi*. He can’t have a level head and make good decisions that are in the best interest of the team when he completely looses his mind.

The ump held up two fingers after he kicked Pierce out and Pierce kept throwing his temper tantrum. The two fingers means two games.

I agree. Thing that could make CDC’s decision a lot harder is this team has the talent to get hot and make a solid run. I know people say you can’t fix pitching overnight and that’s true but winning and momentum goes a long way in terms of player improvement. The schedule gets harder in the next few weeks so we’ll see. To me the damage has been done. This team is currently not even in the top 50 much less the top 5 which is where CDC wants them to be. I still don’t know why Phillip Miller left either voluntarily or not.
