Really interesting breakdown. I think this actually shows how valuable development still is, even in the portal era. A lot of these guys weren’t obvious stars coming out of high school, and some might not have stuck around in past years, but they became NFL players because the staff believed in them and kept working with them.
To me, that’s a big positive for the program. It shows Texas isn’t just chasing five-stars or quick portal fixes, but can also grow players over time and get the best out of them. Yes, the portal changes things, but seeing this many late bloomers turn into draft picks proves that strong coaching and patience still matter a lot. That’s a good sign for the future, not a bad one.
