Must win game tonight IMO. Texas almost needs to win the next two (Mizzou and Aggies) ... got to get to 7 wins in SEC play to get in IMO. That would mean enough Q1 wins in a brutal league. I'm with you though ... too many people are focusing on defense. Like the loss to Florida ... too many people are talking about Texas' defense, well Florida is a tremendous offensive team. But you know what, Missouri scored 83 in Gainesville last week to win 83-82. Texas scored 60 Saturday - zero chance to win. These teams in this league are going to score on quality defense. It's a legitimate great league that is scoring at a record rate ... so it really is all about offense. Have to be able to score 75+ on the road and 80+ at home consistently. Texas just doesn't put enough pressure on opponents off the ball. Texas ran more consistent action last season vs. this season. Just didn't have the talent level needed. This year, Texas has the parts ... but it's evolving into 1v1 shot creation. That is easy to defend when guys aren't making contested jump shots. If Texas misses the tournament, I just don't see how RT is back if the losses remain the same ... too many losses that aren't competitive in year two.

The problem is people are looking the hat on hat part of the play. The TWO best downhill safeties on the same team in CFB were the issue. They had no pass responsibility on the play, and were lined up 3-4 yards behind the LOS ... closer than normal depth. They were the two players 5 yards behind the LOS to blow up the play. That works against inferior opponents ... that literally had a 0.5% chance to work against Caleb Downs and Ransom without and pass responsibilities.

I'm not worried about Sark and that. But that could always change.

Texas coaches on the road OnTexasFootball is hearing the Texas staff will be on the road beginningThursday seeing top 2026 prospects. That doesn't mean a singular coach may not be out a day earlier to be clear. The reason is pretty simple ... January 15 is the last day players can enter the portal and the NFL draft. Plenty of reason to be on campus first half of the week.

The toss sweep on 2nd and goal from the 1 against the two best missile downhill safety defenders on the same team in CFB without any pass coverage responsibilities is quite possibly the dumbest play call in Texas history. It was absurd to start. Sark in the PC saying "have to look at how it got leaky" ... please. The play call was leaky, as in explosive diarrhea in play calling terms. Just absurd.
