Question Gerry: Overhangs???
You mention overhangs in Muschamps system. Who are our overhangs on the roster right now? Who are players we are looking at in the portal that fits that position?

Transfer Portal Window Dates
1/2 to 1/16. Do players just have to have entered window by 1/16? On 1/17 and beyond, if you haven’t found a team can you still sign after 1/16?

Rod Baber's 2000 UT Defense (Top Tier Defense on half a tank of gas)
I was born and raised in Baytown, TX, and lived most of my adult life in the Clear Lake/Friendswood areas, so I freely admit that I'm a Houston/Bay Area homer. We start this endeavor by me renting a 15 passenger van in North Shore, TX. I pick up Corey Redding (DE) first, short drive into Houston and pick up DD Lewis (MLB), Rod Babers (CB), Joe Walker (S), take 288 south and pick up Quinten Jammer (CB) in Angleton, continue south to Freeport, hang a left and pick up Casey Hampton (DT) in Galveston. Take 45 north to Hwy. 146 and go north to Texas City, pick up J. Anderson (DE), Everick Rawls (OLB), Tyrone Jones (OLB). Continue north on 146 to La Porte and pick up Shaun Rogers (DT). Continue on 146 north thru Baytown to Dayton, and pick up Dak Pearson (S). Now if you wanted to save some gas driving to Dayton you might consider moving Jammer to (S), and picking up Ervis Hill in Texas City for (CB). However you look at it, that's a pretty good defense on half a tank of gas.

Athlete Michael Terry (6-3/216#)
Does he fall between the cracks, or where does he fit in? I would think he has the frame to add 15-20 lbs., and retain most of his speed. Could he be the power RB we’ve been looking for? Did he have any experience in HS playing defense? Could he get into a LB rotation?

IU-UT Major Differences
And that was after a good play…lol

IU-UT Major Differences
1) Discipline discipline discipline!!! OL no false starts, holding, illegal formations, etc. UT, all the above!!! 2) Tackling. Watch IU’s LB’s and DB’s. No whiffing, no trying to knock WR’s and RB’s off their feet. They get there, run through the ball carrier and most importantly wrap up!!! UT, not so much. Hope Muschamp makes tackling a priority.

Arch’s Speed……
Defenses are still underestimating his speed. Defenders are taking bad angles and Arch is running past them. I bet on his 60 yard TD run he had to be around 21 mph I bet. So proud of him how he kept his head down and didn’t let the hype get him down. His 2nd half of the season has me very pumped for 2026. Hook’em!!!

Question Gerry: What about Georgia 4A champs Creekside
Just how good is this team? Any players Texas will look at? I saw where they beat DeSoto early this year 70-28, Texas’ 6A Div. 2 champs. I was looking at their scores, I bet they averaged close to 70 points a game .

Brooks & Stroh at Guard???
2024 Media Guide had Hayden Conner at 6-5, 320.
-
Brooks & Stroh at Guard???
Is it me or does 6-7 guys playing guard seem kind of tall? I just think you need a more low center of gravity guy, 6-3 to 6-4, maybe 6-5 max, 330# wide body road grader. Yes 6-7 guys with long arms all day at tackles.

Texas Transfer Portal Priorities
Losing Hutson and Campbell I say we need at least (2) IOL’s. I just don’t see 6’8” Stroh and Brooks as OG’s, too high of centers of gravity. We need a couple of 6-3, or 6-4 330# road graders.

Sark vs Mack
I loved Mack Brown!!! He turned our program around when we needed it. But Mack and Greg Davis had limitations. With the likes of Applewhite and Simms at QB we were a very good 10+ win team, but not a championship caliber team. It took a VY and Colt to make us a championship caliber team. They won us games in spite of Mack and Davis’ deficiencies. I like Sark!! He turned our program around when it needed it. Sark is a great face/voice for the program. Culture and recruiting is where it has needed to be. But Sark has showed limitations when it comes to “in game” coaching and adjustments. The question is, does Arch have the ability to win games in spite of Sark’s limitations. This season I say “no”, but neither did VY or Colt their first year as starters. I’m hoping, no praying, that Arch has learned and grown enough this year to be that QB next year. I have seen improvement in him as the year has progressed. Sark needs to do some self evaluation, and make improvements to become a championship caliber coach.

Question for CJ
Sorry if it has already been asked. But what is the significance of the framed play on the wall behind you?
-
Vandy Oline
Sark, if you want your Oline to play better, have them watch Vandy Oline today vs. LSU. Now that is a technically sound and disciplined Oline.
- Oh how I miss………….

2008 vs 2009 matchup
