Mo Portal Mo Problems
I know I’m just really talking to talk here and I have listened to the OTF videos and I can see both sides of the portal and development argument for IOL. I just figured I’d ask for discussion sake… Troy IOL Matt Henry (6’4”, 350) has at least got to be brought in unless he’s one of those guys trying to get a University to help him get an extra year. True RG that started all 14 games for Troy and was All Sun Belt Third Team Honors. Also didn’t allow a sack in 224 passing situations. Maybe the price tag doesn’t make sense or maybe he wants a guaranteed starting spot, but I’d love to see a visit.

Portalfront Property in Arizona
I think its moreso the timing aspect for me only because I think when Coleman decides, you get some more very solid to elite guys that enter after he sets the market. I won’t lie and say I know a whole lot about Noah Rogers but I think its safe to assume Bama could line up some better visits at WR.

Portalfront Property in Arizona
Could be something, could be nothing, but Bama hosting another WR this evening is interesting… I know they might be a team going after 2 WR’s, but Texas hasn’t had another WR on a visit besides Coleman as of now as far as I know.

Made the switch over
I hope your source has better intel than what the 247 Aggie intel is since they think they landed Cam

2025-26 Portal Tracker Thread
am I crazy for thinking Penn St is going to have the best transfer portal class in the history of the sport once they hire a coach because they only signed 2 kids in this class?!

The key to Texas finishing games strong might be starting faster
Speaking of the OU game and all the Mateer and Manning talk… did some work across the SEC on QB’s and as most of us know, Manning is much more closer to the middle of the pack than the basement of SEC QB’s. Texas doesn’t have a Top 30 SEC rusher or Top 20 SEC WR in terms of yards. Also, I know we can’t, but if we take out the UTEP game for Arch, he’d be tied for 4th best completion % in the SEC.

Interesting Arch Manning Trend from the Opener (Sunday AM)
In no way do I want this to sound like I’m discrediting the work y’all have put out regarding camp, practice and scrimmages. I was just wondering if the Arch Manning we saw yesterday with the decision making, bad footwork, and wild arm slots which at times can be okay showed up in those scrimmages or practices in the windows y’all were able to view? This isn’t a slight on Arch at all, but was just wondering if there was glimpes of this earlier on? @Gerry Hamilton@CJ Vogel@Bobby Burton@Jeff Howe?

Reshuffling on the OL (Monday 1:50 p.m.)
This topic is intriguing to say the least, but this era of blocking someone or ignoring someone’s opinions as a whole just because you think they are being negative or disagree with the point is just pitiful. There are easily solid points made on both sides but my God I pray we can get past this culture of putting our hands over our ears when things don’t go our way or someone isn’t being nice to us…

Noteworthy Ohio State camp news (QB battle, DT injury, etc)
I know this thread is in regards to Ohio St., but there has been some pretty heavy talk about our backup QB spot. So, I was wondering how you, @CJ Vogel, @Gerry Hamilton, @Jeff Howe, @Bobby Burton would have the room if Maalik Murphy was still here (Yes, hypothetical and Murphy being here would almost guarantee us not going after Caldwell) and I guess my real question is do we feel better, worse or the same regarding our backup QB situation as we did when Murphy was QB2 to Ewers?

A deeper understanding of what is happening
Just my two cents… this is a completely new landscape so I understand the urgency and fear in some fans, but also just like any other year, let’s focus on the bigger picture and give the staff a chance to handle business like they have. My main problem in all this is Texas fans coming off as whiny. If other universities are actually cheating, then lets just play it out and reap the benefits down the road from those institutions downfalls if things will truly be handled as they should regarding the House Settlement.

Texas hoops recruiting guys ... this is for you
Appreciate this! Next couple of classes could be very exciting for Texas. Any word on the last roster spot that’s most likely going to be an International prospect this coming year for Texas?

Ojo
Is it fair to say Turntine and Ojo probably have similar NIL deals from Texas even though Ojo most likely values himself which is fine at a higher degree than other OT’s?

Basketball 🏀
100%. I have the utmost confidence in Coach Miller. It was more of a refelection of how good of a job CDC has done overall in my opinion and that we truly are one sport away from being really competitive in everything which is truly insane.

Basketball 🏀
I was just thinking after watching softball win a natty and also going back to the most recent video where Sean Miller states to some degree, “Every Texas program is either competing for a national title or on the cusp of competing for one”… We seem to have a great overall athletic staff in place but I was wondering if Men’s Basketball is truly the one sport that as of right this moment, we aren’t on the cusp of competing for a national title until we see what this staff has put together on the court?

College Hoops: NBA withdrawal deadline May 29
I know I'm behind on this thread and I hope this doesn't sound like a repetitive question, but I know a few weeks ago there was some discussion on Coffee & Football about the staff wanting to add one more big minutes piece, I believe a CG, because there was a question about what a projected starting lineup would be and you said it was hard to say as of then because we didn't have that CG out of the portal yet... (I might have misheard). We wanted a CG that had size, could shoot from deep and was a multi-year starter. As you stated, we are still after those same traits, but I was wondering if the emergence of Simeon Wilcher and what we have planned for him has kind of changed the outlook on this last roster spot to go from potential starting CG out of the portal to a role player CG? Thanks!

I might be done as a Mavs fan
That was beyond painful… Nico treated his job as if he was a Fantasy Football GM where there are no real repercussions instead of taking his job serious enough to know that a whole fanbase relies on his decision making. I will never understand why ruining basketball for the forseeable future for all Mavs fans was ever a topic of discussion.
