OTF community question ...
This is the right answer. I think they play well, I think they get in, but I don't think RT is the long-term answer. He was a feel good story, but Texas deserves one of the best coaches in the country and RT just ain't that guy.

Carnell Tate Rumors
Would love this for Texas if they can swing it. Would hate this for Oregon if they can swing it.

Thrilled to be here! | Importance of the third-year Longhorns (Wednesday, 1 p.m.)
Jeff - 247 was the first message board I ever subscribed to. Loved reading your work over there and thrilled that you're with the absolute best in the business in OTF with Bobby, Gerry, and CJ. They are really building something special here.

Hottest Longhorns Takes
I thought Johntay Cook was going to come in and be what people wanted Evan Stewart to be. Was absolutely convinced. Had no idea why he wasn't getting playing time as a freshman in front of all the stars in the receiver room. Boy, was I wrong.

Texas No. 2 In ESPN’s “Way Too Early” Top 25
How do you have Ohio State as the #1 team in the country when they have a mailman force-feeding the ball to Jeremiah Smith? They need to hit the Spring portal hard, no?

Jeff Howe to OTF?
Lets get it done, Bobby!

Next Year
And you don't think Texas will supplement the players they lose? They aren't going to just go into the season with 80 players

Sam or Quinn
Almost impossible to answer this question. Sam was who he was because he had to be within the offense. Quinn was not asked to do as much because of the talent around him. Not sure Sam was accurate enough to sit in the pocket and throw darts like Quinn did.

Next Year
Which is why they are looking at backs in the portal. Good point.

Next Year
They aren't losing to Florida. Come on now.

Next Year
Agreed. And I think calling @ Florida a top 3 hardest game of their schedule shows where they are at as a program. Nobody should scare them. Maybe Reed progresses like crazy next year and A&M is really good. Or maybe Stockton becomes the next hottest thing at Georgia. But right now, that schedule looks very favorable for Texas.

Next Year
"way harder" is a wild exaggeration. @ Ohio State v. San Jose State v. UTEP v. Sam Houston @ Florida v. Oklahoma @ Kentucky @ Mississippi State v. Vanderbilt @ Georgia v. Arkansas v. A&M ....Where do you see three losses? At worst, they should be 10-2 with only 1 in-conference loss, which has them right back in the SEC Championship game next year.

Ewers first round...
I think he is getting close after last game. If he has a great game and beats OSU, I bet he sneaks into the first round. If they win the whole dang thing, you can bet he is a first rounder.

Portal WR To Keep An Eye On (Thurs 2:30 PM)
I would love the move if for nothing else to snag a guy from A&M. With that said, I would ideally like a burner more, unless they are taking more than one guy out of the portaI

Cook took a shot at Ewers 👀
This stinks because I loved his story. He was locked into Texas for a long time and his commitment video that he made with Roach was awesome. I truly felt good for the kid went he committed to Texas. But he is clearly getting some terrible (or none) advice. Sometimes your mouth writes checks your actions can't cash. Looks like we are heading that way. But hey, have fun in Washington.

Cook took a shot at Ewers 👀
Minus, you know, the proven track record of absolutely balling out in college and the NFL.

Don't you dare disrespect the Pop Tarts Bowl like that.

Let's Talk the College Football Playoff
Good write-up, CJ. I understand people thinking this was simply just bad football, but Texas played the winner of the ACC in the first round of the playoffs. In a vacuum, that should be a really good matchup. More than anything, you can make the argument that this just shows the difference in conferences. I expect more of the same in that regard next round, i.e. ASU, Boise State, et al.

Portal Note (Friday 7:22am CST)
Congratulations on contributing to Texas' (or whoever's) NIL, that must make your opinion somehow more important than mine. Again, I will choose not to root against kids that are trying to make money. Thats called capitalism, isn't that how you became so wildly successful that you were able to be involved so deeply in NIL? I agree, the NIL stuff is getting ridiculous, but this isn't the first time siblings tried to do something as a package deal. Furthermore, Zachariah Branch, at least in my opinion, is a rare talent that just hasn't reached his full potential yet. Honestly, the same can be said about his brother, albeit to a lesser degree because he isn't as talented.

Portal Note (Friday 7:22am CST)
I don't root against any kids, especially if he is just trying to make sure his brother is taken care of. He is doing what he thinks is best and its the opposite of being selfish, which I kind of respect. Some team will do exactly what he is asking for, and if he decides to go there, so be it. Would love to have him in burnt orange next season, he is a great developmental talent.

Eric Singleton over Zachariah Branch if they only take one receiver in the portal?
