Sark said Jermaine Bishop has spent the whole summer working with the defense. He'll go back to focusing on offense once camp starts.

Sark on Jermaine Bishop: "This guy loves football. Everything he does, he works on his craft."

Sark is proud that the three guys he's taking to SEC media days (Arch Manning, Trevor Goosby and Colin Simmons) are guys that they've recruited out of high school.

Sark: "We're not going to sacrifice character for talent."

Sark said some of the portal guys they took are a case of "seeing the forest through the trees" and trying to forecast what a guy will be like a couple of years down the road.

Sark on Seymore: "We'll find out a lot more when we get to training camp. But so far, so good."

Laurence Seymore "has done very well" since getting to campus. Sark feels like Seymore's body has changed and responded well to the strength program.

Sark on calling plays: "This is how I learned how to do it."

Sark said calling plays as the head coach was "the way I learned how to do" after coaching under Pete Carroll and Norv Turner, both of whom called their own plays.

Sark with a pretty detailed answer on the 5-for-5 rule. He feels it'll allow guys to develop properly without anyone worrying about the player wasting a year of eligibility.

The mic feedback threw me off a little bit.

Sark is asked about the diminishing role of the running back position in football. He thinks the position is still valuable and is working its way back up because of the ability backs have as receivers.

Sark: "This is kind of the kickoff to football season, which is exciting."

Muschamp messing with Mark Orphey while showing a clip of Kade Phillips getting off a block: “Mark, I think that was the only time our corners got off a block all spring.”

Muschamp on tackling: “The guys that are good tacklers, normally, they’re pretty good athletes, but they want it.”

Muschamp has jokes while breaking down some Georgia tape the hook-and-swat technique in action: “We’re playing in Athens. That’s not PI. That’s how our league works.”

Even as Muschamp has evolved as a coach, he hasn’t deviated from the Bill Belichick/Nick Saban requirements for defensive backs: you’ve got to be willing tackler, you’ve got be able to play man-to-man coverage and you must be able to defend the deep ball.
