  1. Ruger. Could see Harrison in a late-inning/stopper situation.
  2. That's it for Schloss and the Longhorns. We'll see y'all tomorrow night!
  3. "If they can get on base and flip the lineup to Tinney and Robbins and Pack, that's when we have a chance to score a lot of runs," Schloss said of the bottom of the lineup. Larson, Borba and Pendergrass went 1-for-7, but they scored three runs and combined to draw four walks.
  4. "I always want to give the umpire the benefit of the doubt," Schloss said of letting players demand a review of a call. "But if you're right, let me know."
  5. "Hope to see them tomorrow," Schloss said of the crowd. "Hope they stay the whole game."
  6. Schloss felt Volantis was pitching well enough through the fifth to send him out for the sixth. On Burns, Schloss said it's the second walk that hurt the most. They got Smith where they wanted on the first walk, but Burns didn't locate the cutter well enough to get Smith to swing.
  7. Schloss: "Pitching, defense and timely hitting. Tonight, we got the timely hitting."
  8. Schloss: "We got out-hit tonight, but our situational hitting, our situational baseball was good."
  9. "We're trying to pitch the best pitchers the most," Schloss said.
  10. Schloss said Texas has some banged-up guys, so they need to cover some innings.
  11. Schloss said Tulo continues to prove to guys with his work that you can get better throughout a season.
  12. Casey Borba has been working on going the other way. "He's been working on a simpler move — I'll call it that — with Tulo," Schloss said.
  13. Ethan Mendoza "has been in a good place for a while," Schloss said. To Schloss' credit, he's said for a while that he's liked the way Mendoza has been trending.
  14. Schloss on A-Rod: "He doesn't need to take 1,000 swings to be ready. He can wake up and be ready to hit."
  15. A-Rod said the struggles with his hand have forced him to mature. He's had to cut down on the amount of time he's in the cage and he's changed some things mechanically that have helped him.
  16. Volantis was going crazy in the dugout when Harrison came in in the sixth. "He's the most trustworthy guy ever," Volantis said of Harrison.
  17. Schloss said the difference in the game was that Texas got key hits with runners on third and less than two outs and Oregon didn't. "You credit Dylan for that," he said.
  18. Schloss said the humidity played a factor in the game. A slick ball could be responsible for some of the control issues on both sides, he said.
  19. Schloss said Ruger Riojas will start tomorrow's game. He said Harrison could come back on Monday or, if possible, he could go tomorrow if Texas has a chance to win the game and needs him.
  20. Georgia (3), North Carolina (5), Texas (6) and Alabama (7) are the highest seeds left in the field.
  21. The Oregon press conference is done. We're waiting for Schloss, A-Rod and Volantis.
  22. Wasikowski said Cal Scolari didn't keep his composure, but he felt the offense could've done a better job of picking him up. Oregon stranded 17 runners on base. "That's really hard to do," Wasikowski said.
  23. Wasikowski wasn't surprised that Harrison came out of the bullpen. "Jim is going to do everything he has to do to win the game," he said. "He's going to play his best cards possible."
  24. Maddox Molony said "the moment got too big" for Oregon at times. The Ducks set the table, but they didn't get the key hit they needed to break through.
