  1. Saunier induces an infield popout to end the top of the second. HCU strands a pair as we head to a scoreless bottom of the second.
  2. I'm being told that this was the plan: for Walker to go through the HCU order once before making it a bullpen game. That was the plan for Tennessee, but Walker was on a roll and, obviously, Texas wasn't too concerned with the outcome in Hoover.
  3. Borba slips trying to get to a slow roller. It's a single for Halligan and that ends the day for Walker. Schloss is going with Grayson Saunier.
  4. Leiterman chops one back to the mound and is retired at first base. HCU with a runner on second and two outs.
  5. 17 and Grayson Saunier is up in the bullpen.
  6. It's a 15-pitch inning and counting for Walker.
  7. The Huskies have a runner on base. Walker couldn't quite get to Bard's ground ball and Flores couldn't run up on it in time to make that play at first. It's scored as a single.
  8. You appreciate a pitcher who can field his position. Walker retires Hendricks after a competitive AB.
  9. End of 1: Texas 0, Houston Christian 0
  10. The call is confirmed. A 9-2 double play gets HCU out of the jam and abruptly ends the bottom of the second for Texas.
  11. Good throw by Tevis Payne, regardless.
  12. Mendoza broke for home on a liner to right by Schuessler. He's thrown out at home on a double play, but we've got a conference between the umpires.
  13. Seemed from up here like Max had trouble picking up the breaking ball in that AB.
  14. Belyeu got jammed and dribbled one between the plate and the mound. It effectively works like a sacrifice. He's retired on a 1-3 groundout, but there are runners in scoring position for Schuessler.
  15. Galvan draws a walk. Only five of Edwards' first 11 pitches have been strikes.
  16. Mendoza did a really good job of staying alive with two strikes. He's on base after taking one in the shoulder.
  17. You ain't lyin. 10-2 lead for the Pirates in the top of the sixth.
  18. Mendoza, Galvan and Belyeu are due up in the home half.
  19. If you blinked, you might've missed the top of the first. Ethan Walker got through it on six pitches, retiring the Huskies in order.
  20. Unfortunately, he doesn't determine when those games are played. When Texas moved to the SEC, the conference took control of its Tier 3 broadcast rights. Instead of the option to put games on LHN, the Longhorns play when the conference decides it makes sense.
  21. Houston Christian LF Jack Walker hits third in the order. He's the son of legendary LSU infielder Todd Walker, a 12-year Major Leaguer who left LSU as the all-time SEC leader hits, runs scored, RBI and total bases.
  22. Parker Edwards from HCU is a righty, which explains why Schloss is going with Jonah over Tommy Farmer in the lineup.
