  1. Swain said Sean Miller motivated the team by showing them a horse race. The point, Swain said, was to just keep running the race. It doesn't matter how you start, just keep running the race and see where you stand when it's over.
  2. Tramon Mark and Dailyn Swain are both talking about it was all about defense today.
  3. We're waiting for the postgame press conference to start after Texas snapped a two-game losing streak with a blowout win over No. 21 Georgia at Moody Center on Saturday, 87-67. Sean Miller's Longhorns are now 12-8 overall and 3-4 in SEC play. Each of those three wins has come against AP Top 25 opponents.
  4. James Street wasn't the only one, though. Bobby Layne threw two no-hitters at Texas, won 35 games, was a four-time All-SWC selection and led the Longhorns to three SWC titles.
  5. From UT: Due to forecasted inclement weather in Fayetteville, the Texas at Arkansas Women’s Basketball scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 25, has been postponed. The game will be rescheduled for Thursday, February 19th, a common BYE date for both institutions. More details on tip times TBD.
  6. Among the freshmen, a lot of talk today about Brett Crossland on the mound and Anthony Pack in the outfield/at the plate.
  7. I’m disappointed that we’re three pages deep without a single Penny Hardaway or Nick Anderson reference.
  8. It’s not that far removed, when you think about it. The bowl game was on New Year’s Eve and with the holiday, it probably wasn’t possible for everyone to have their surgery right away.
  9. If guys need something cleaned up, the sooner they get it done after the season, the better.
  10. Texas quarterback Arch Manning, "underwent minor foot surgery this week as a preventative measure to address a previous injury," the Longhorns announced on Friday. Manning is one of six Texas players who underwent postseason surgery, and while "he will be limited during offseason workouts," school officials said that Manning "is expected back during spring football." The following Longhorns underwent postseason surgery for various ailments and "are expected back 100 percent healthy by the season," the school said: safety Xavier Filsaime (shoulder), offensive tackle Trevor Goosby (shoulder), wide receiver Emmett Mosley V (ankle), linebacker Ty’Anthony Smith (shoulder) and wide receiver Ryan Wingo (wrist).
