  1. He'll be in the DH role for a bit. He can swing, but he can't throw. The concern is that this is a recurring issue for him, going back to high school.
  2. This is another look at how good Coleman is in contested-catch situations. That's something Texas hasn't really had at wide receiver under Sark.
  3. The most important thing about Sunday's 12-6 win over Tennessee in Knoxville is that the Longhorns avoided getting swept by the Vols. Still, it's pretty cool that, with the win, Texas became the first college baseball program to reach 1,500 all-time conference victories.
  4. The Longhorns are No. 5 in the latest Coaches Poll:
  5. Baseball America also has Texas ranked No. 6 in its latest poll:
  6. We'll start with D1Baseball.com, which dropped the Longhorns from No. 4 to No. 6 after the road series loss in Knoxville:
  7. That's a franchise that seems like it's doomed to suck. But when you draft Tyreke Evans over Steph Curry, end up with Jimmer Fredette in a draft with Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard, take Thomas Robinson one pick before Damian Lillard went off the board and then draft Marvin Bagley over Luka, you've had enough self-inflicted wounds to last a lifetime.
  8. I remember the debate between whether he or DaBryan Blanton was the fastest man in Texas in 2002.
  9. Also, a shoutout to my guy Wane McGarity. He made Nebraska's secondary look slow in the '96 Big 12 title game and go back and look at his effort as a blocker on Ricky's record-breaking touchdown run against the Aggies in '98 (as Wane calls it, the most devastating block in the history of college football!).
  10. I'll give a mention to Marcus Johnson. He went sub-4.4 at his pro day and had moments where the straight-line speed was electric. His career could've been very different if Texas had better and more consistent quarterback play while he was in the program.
  11. In terms of moving him into one of the rotation spots and taking over for Ruger or Harrison, no. But, I could see a scenario where if Texas is in a loser's bracket game in a regional, or is up 1-0 in a Super Regional, with a chance to go to Omaha, he could have Cozart ready to go for an extended outing. Effectively, that would be using Ruger or Harrison as an opener and bringing in Cozart to either minimize the damage in an inning or protect a lead.
  12. FINAL: Texas 13, Tennessee 6 The Longhorns improve to 37-12, 16-10 in SEC play.
  13. Cozart works around a two-out walk to slam the door on the Vols. The Longhorns avoid the sweep and leave Knoxville with a win.
  14. Two quick outs for Cozart. The Longhorns are one out away from leaving Knoxville with a win.
  15. Gumbo moves to center with Callum Early taking over at second with Cozart on the hill.
  16. Robbins strikes out to end the top of the ninth with Mendoza stranded on third.
  17. Ashton Larson’s pinch-hit RBI groundout with runners in scoring position after Gumbo’s sacrifice bunt makes it 13-6.
  18. Mendoza draws the Longhorns’ 10th walk of the game.
  19. Borba draws a four-pitch walk to lead off the ninth.
