Current OL recruiting rankings and opinion from a casual: Goosby - 413 overall, 26th OT. Bad game but they hit on him Stroh - 613 overall, 41st OT. Big miss, but ranking pans out. Neto - 91overall, 4th IOL. If Stroh beat him out, he was a bad eval and miss Hutson - 362 nationally. 13th IOL. Would say not playing up to that ranking. He’s average. Campbell - 10 nationally, 1st IOL. Hard to live up to that billing, but he’s consistently been a liability and not living up to the standard. Miss Baker - 32 nationally, 2nd OT. Early in career, but clearly struggling. Miss so far. Recruiting matters. I would say Flood’s recruiting philosophy is coming home to roost a bit.

Also — where is Justus Terry? Remember when he was going to be a pretty big piece this season? So many questions.

Thanks. A dumbfounding decision, among several this offseason. He might have just made some philosophy mistakes this offseason.

Next week is the biggest game of Sark’s career. If he cannot perform, we probably have found out what kind of coach he is.

Jeff, what the hell happened to the offensive identity? This is nothing like last year’s offense. I know personnel is different, what what are we doing. No motion, no RB involved in pass game, no intermediate game. Basically throwing deep hoping for explosives. It’s unbelievable. Sark has abandoned a proven system.

It depends on the way VT wrote their contracts. Now, you’re going to see players negotiate for additional clauses if the head coach leaves. It’s already a way to enter the portal. I get VT’s argument, but I’m not sure it meets the spirit of the bylaw they are citing. Heitner is already bringing suit against them. We’ll see.

Hope this is satire. Respectfully, I want to play them at their best. Our best vs. your best, let’s see who wins.

Texas has had some insane injury luck regarding opposing teams’ health in the past couple of years. Really unfortunate for the young man. Hope he heals well.

While they may have an idea, they can’t start the official process until the portal opens. Some schools start first week of January, which would give them maybe 3-4 days to get a kid fully admitted and cleared. You have to get admissions, registrar, maybe housing, and other on-campus departments on board to turn it around that quickly (I had to do that in a past life many times when windows were longer). It will be a challenge. I’m sure schools will figure it out, but it will likely be an issue if the date doesn’t change.

Curious to see if they adjust the date. Jan 2 is not enough time for kids that want to enroll in the spring. Process takes time. Just encourages more tampering, imo

Curious to get the mods thoughts on the evolution of Sark’s offense. Time will tell, but it feels like in the biggest games we get out-schemed. Almost like Sark doesn’t change things up enough and more so relies on having more talent than the other team. Appears that some defensive-minded coaches have figured out how to prepare for this offense. Will be curious to see how Florida and OU play out.

For sure. I just never felt Mosley was on the same level as the other guys they’ve gotten in past years. We will see.

I understand culture concerns with some of them, but they had a very clear recipe for success in the WR room in getting a difference maker or two from the portal and letting other guys develop. They went away from that this year. We’ll see if they were correct in due time. I personally think not, but will be happy to eat crow. Add Barrion Brown to that list.

Thamel reported it was a hamstring for EM. Hoping they can get him in one of these games before Florida.
