I would have laughed at Royal Ivy a few years ago but he’s one of the best NBA assistants and he did a damn good job as the HC for South Sudan. You can probably get him for cheap. Get Ivy and bump the NIL up to 5/6 for a few years and see what happens

If he did a certain mob would have come for CDC. Timing and race 100% factored into the decision. The next coach, CDC can now fully vet. Whether that is Ivy, Miller, Wade, Oats, etc… I just want to win and have the coach represent Texas with success and honor

Beard was making 5.1M and getting a good NIL pool. (Bigger than Terrys) CDC loves basketball and Texas is printing money right now. He has surprised with every hire and all are paid within the top 5. (Or close to it)

My personal opinion, if we hire a good coach (Sean Miller level) with 3.8M in NIL we will be back to the same discussion in 6/7 years. Basketball is a funny sport since getting to the elite 8/final 4 every 5/6 years is considered good. Texas has more money than every school. Texas can make a consistent winner (of course there will be hiccups). Just hire a Sean Miller (and up) type coach with 5M NIL… that will win and save money on future buyouts. Isn’t Terrys buyout, 6/7M? Forward think and add 1M to NIL and you have a coach who will be here for a while.

He’s is going to be wrong. CDC just stole Schloss from the Ags and made him the highest paid coach and staff. CDC also loves basketball. Gerry is just giving an opinion.

I’m happy we are about to land her but I’d sacrifice all women’s programs for the big 3 Men’s sports… that is what matters. Most peoples don’t GAF about women’s sports.
