The ultimate sign of respect to Stewart. Walking Stewart to get the base loaded.

This feels like a situation where he’s over thinking it a bit? I think you go for the throat to close out, but Teagan has also thrown a ton of innings. Interesting decision but he has a plan of some kind. It’s hard to doubt one of the greatest men’s Fastpitch pitchers in the history of the sport.

She has to have a shoulder issue bothering her. White wouldn’t make a change without a reason.

If I’m White I am telling the team that Tech has already given up.

Checking in. Is this a John Cena where they’re doing the “you can’t see me”, or you made a joke?

Atwood has struggled in the postseason almost every season at Texas. It’s mind boggling because she is such an incredible player. I will say that she has had a tough season this year in general, but her postseason struggles are interesting.

Texas has not won a game 1 in supers under Mike White. This series is far from being done.

You’re also downplaying what Texas has and is doing in the playoffs. Won a great SEC tournament and then stomped every team in regionals.

I’d argue that A&M came into the tournament with a tough draw, and being a team on the downward slope. Texas is improving (SEC tournament and the regional), and has always performed in the postseason under White. Texas shows historically had a slow April, and Aggie has had postseason issues. Also, Arizona State had some added desire to beat the former coach. Ford hasn’t been regarded as a championship winning coach (outside of one run to the WCWS). You’re reading too much into ASU, and not enough into the downside of Aggie coupled with the playoff success of Texas under Mike White.

I agree with this. ASU doesn’t have quite the same offensive team (IMO) that can get to our arms. That not withstanding I am loving that Aggie gets knocked out again after being a national seed.

Big letdown this series. Had the double by in reach and let Woo Pig take it over.

Baseball Game Thread: No. 4 Texas vs. Vanderbilt (Sunday, 12 p.m.)
If you keep a rigid hand when the pitch is coming, then you end up not having a fluid motion to receive the pitch. It ends up being far too fast and prevents the catcher from being a receiver. It’s a way to become a better receiver.

That’s literally how you are supposed to do it. The bigger issue, IMO, is the setting up down the middle no matter what. He could get more strike calls (and likely provide a better target) by positioning his body where the pitch is intended to go. It puts him at a disadvantage to where his movements are seen far too easily by the umpire (and are distracting). I’m sure there’s a rationale behind it, but I personally don’t like it.

This bullpen is really up and down. I know we have one of the best coaches/developers of the position, but my goodness it is lacking.

I think it is time to start discussing Ruger not being up to the level his draft grade is saying. At least, not right now. He’s been underwhelming for several starts now (maybe 4?).

Why would I watch A&M baseball when I am a Longhorn fan? My four year old know we don't watch A&M anything.

You don't want to read the "nonsense" because it makes sense. Have you seen Aiden? Tinney? Get a grip, man. Don't let one series make you into an Aggie.

I draw the line at you idiots saying their top guys are better than ours. If you don't know baseball, then sit this one out. Better yet, just stop watching and spare us all with your outlandish takes based in nothing but emotion. Is this team beat right now? Yes. Absolutely. This is big boy baseball where big time draft picks come out and are in the big leagues very quickly. This isn't Sunday farm baseball that is being played. This team is still talented and able to make a deep run. It is April for goodness sake. I want to beat Aggie like all of you (and has lots of emotions about losing to them with those damn bubbles), but let's not act like this team can't still make a WS run. How many of you would make fun of Aggie for making this their "Super Bowl" if they were so excited for winning a series agains the #2 team?

Two thoughts. One, Borba needs to sit and recover mentally. He's just not there right now (justifiably so). The golden sombrero put him into a bad head space. Two, I'm struggling to understand why Duplantier is still in the lineup. Okay on defense, but entirely to prone to issues on offense. Regardless of what happens this series I think that is a weakness in the lineup.
