Today
Having attended well over 150 Longhorn games myself I salute Scott Wilson for his streak. I knew two other gentlemen with very impressive game records, Frank Denius and John Davis. I think at one point in the early 2000s that Frank had only missed a handful of games since the end of World War II. I'm curious if any other readers of OTF knew Frank or "Little John."

Snap Judgments: No. 20 Texas hangs on for a 34-31 win over No. 9 Vanderbilt
And I used to say that Big 12 officials were the worst. You would think that the SEC would be better officiated than this.

View from the Cheap Seats-Mississippi State
Excellent summary. Did not that last play of overtime count as a turnover?

Who do we want from LSU?
I want quick and mean O linemen with good feet and don't care where they come from. A large gut is not necessary in my opinion, just strength.

Sark eyeing NFL per report
Well, let's have a little dog poop on our Saturday morning.

Lane Kiffin
How many schools has Kiffin walked out on?

View from the Cheap Seats-Kentucky
I'm not sure, but it sounds like a typical Jackie Sherrill stunt.

View from the Cheap Seats-Kentucky
The last time Texas visited Starkville was 1991 and the coach was David McWilliams. It was a 13-6 loss and I was there, soaked from a 1st quarter rain.

Thoughts on the Texas offense tonight
Our offense is painful to watch on TV, painful to listen to on the radio. And after so looking forward to the season all summer long.

No. 21 Texas 16, Kentucky 13 (OT): Postgame with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns
I thought "All Gas, No Brakes" would be more fun than this. Our offense needs to take a Greyhound bus back to Austin.

Benefits of being in the SEC vs not
I suspect there are a good many players on our team that would not be there had we stayed in the Big 12. We caught OSU at bad timing on our part with regard to breaking in a new QB and a new O-line. I for one have no interest in seeing UT schedule the likes of a Sam Houston, a Sanford or an Arkansas Pine Bluff.

Texas is determined to 'go up and be consistent' heading into the Kentucky game
Consistent would be good. A comfortable lead would be consistently better for my heart.

Napier to be fired this Sunday, win or lose
Kiffin is getting rather long in the resume.

Napier to be fired this Sunday, win or lose
Cody Campbell may do just that.

College coaching carousel 2025: It's going to be wild
Will any of them come after PK?

Snap Judgments: Texas answers the bell by smothering No. 6 Oklahoma, 23-6
Left guard may indeed soon become a team strength for the Texas offense. Fingers crossed.

Snap Judgments: Texas answers the bell by smothering No. 6 Oklahoma, 23-6
Thanks Jeff. I have really needed to read this for a long time. It appears that Venables has a Texas problem.

Texas-OU Prediction Thread (Free subscription)
I refuse to pick against my Horns. Therefore, I plead the fifth.

Positivity Train
We need to run some screen passes where you are not required to block the D linemen. There. That's positive. I really hope to see one or two or three of the O linemen to step up and show some fiery leadership.

No better time than now for Texas to fix a long-running Oklahoma problem
I don't know about all the players, but I want it really bad. Saturday evening Sark will either be 3-2 and 3 of the last 4 vs. OU or with a losing 2-3 record vs. OU. OU sucks and Will Rogers never met Barry Switzer.

Snap Judgments: Texas bullied up front in an SEC-opening loss to Florida
I cannot think of an adjective that properly describes this performance. Offensive line play is where football success builds from, and this season I'm not seeing it. Right now, I'm not at all worried about what the playoff committee thinks.

Mateer thumb injury?
I was also at the 1984 monsoon tie game. Ranked #1 before the game and it felt like a complete loss to me. Fred's conservative play calling was on display that day, or maybe our offense just wasn't up to rain game against a good defense. A forgettable game in my book.

Sam Pittman Fired
Firing head coaches in September, it's a brave new world. Were these schools really expecting something different in August?

Texas and 4-star+ Dre Quinn (Thursday 8:15pm CST)
Is Dabo finished?

Mike Gundy Fired
Did OSU's competitive days die with Boone Pickens? Or did they fire Gundy because of his stance on NIL?
