Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
I agree, but that’s the key: he has to leave Lubbock uncommitted. It’s sounding like they made him a massive NIL that was take-it-or-leave-it. They clearly don’t want him to make the trip to Austin.

You’re probably right. But it also seems like Hunter never even gave us a chance to counter. @Bobby Burton any mutual interest between Texas and David Blay from La Tech? He seems like a solid replacement for the interior pass rush UT is losing in Collins/Broughton…- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
I guess there’s not much Texas can do when other schools want to dramatically overpay for players we want. Reminds me of Damonic Williams a year ago—there was simply no way we were gonna pay that guy $1M+. It’s a bummer, though—Hunter would have filled a huge hole on this roster. Not sure where we go from here.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
Branch and Singleton are both dynamic, so I wouldn’t mind having them both. But that’s gonna be a hefty price tag. And I’m not sure how our stud incoming freshman WR would feel about us bringing in two portal WRs.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
That would be a major f-up by the staff if they let Tech do the end-around.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
Bobby and Gerry said on one of the shows today that they expected Singleton and Hunter in tonight or tomorrow.- Texas Portal Entry Tracker
Kinda bummed we didn’t go after him, but I guess the staff is happy with Manny M and Kobe Black as the two starters. Hard to argue with that.- Former Texas player Zac Swanson motivated to play the Horns 👀
Actually, he’s had a worse season than Tyanthony Smith: one fewer tackle, the SAME number of sacks and TFL, but Smith has an INT!- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
No Oregon either. With us getting the last shot at him, I like our chances.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
I think Nansen will be a great judge of whether he’s worth bringing in. If we go after him, it means that Nansen thinks he can be a strong contributor. If we don’t, it means there are better options out there.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
Go get that dude on campus and pay the man! Feels like a big fish at DT that you can’t let get away.- Notes and Nuggets from the Portal (Friday 9:20 AM)
Would they break the bank for Singleton? The report is that he’s seeking $2 million. That feels counter to Texas’s MO the last few years. Do they think he’s good enough to break their own rule?- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
That team might be FSU 2.0 next year, especially with that schedule.- Texas’s 2025 schedule
OU with another BRUTAL schedule: Texas, @South Carolina, Ole Miss, and @Tennessee in four straight weeks. Then @Alabama, Mizzou, and LSU to end the year. Plus they have a home OOC game vs Michigan. Ol’ Burnt Vegetables is staring face to face with getting fired.- Texas’s 2025 schedule
No home games in the month of October, including a very difficult road game in Gainesville followed by Red River. And then three straight weeks to end the season we get @Georgia and at home vs Arkie and Aggy. I do like that we end the year twice at home, but definitely won’t be easy.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
My question is, would we prefer Dalton Johnson or Dillon Thieneman at safety?- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
Venables better KILL it in the portal or he’s toast. His roster is now noticeably worse than it was two days ago, and that’s saying something.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
Having seen them both play, I personally would have kept Van Buren over Arnold. But I guess Lebby knows both players better than anyone.- Two Longhorns on All-SEC First Team (Tuesday 2:25pm CST)
The following are stats from two true freshman edges in 2022 and 2024. One received 1st team all SEC, while the other didn’t even receive 3rd team. Can you guess the players? Player A: 39 solo tackles, 13 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 1 INT, 4 FF Player B: 27 solo tackles, 13 TFL, 8 sacks, 0 INT, 3 FF- Two Longhorns on All-SEC First Team (Tuesday 2:25pm CST)
According to PFF, Taffe was the highest graded safety in the country. It’s egregious.- Two Longhorns on All-SEC First Team (Tuesday 2:25pm CST)
Pretty egregious that the best defense in the country got a total of 3 players across all three teams.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
@Gerry Hamilton @Bobby Burton Would Flood have any interest in guys like Ethan Onianwa from Rice or Josh Thompson from Northwestern? These are highly productive, experienced future NFL draft picks that would instantly stabilize the OL. I just have a very hard time imagining that Sark would allow Arch to play behind a completely green OL. That feels like a potential disaster.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
Good to know. I was wondering why he had such a down year. Also makes me wonder if he’s a bit of a reach in the portal. Probably going to be better options out there.- Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
He had a great year in 2023, but his numbers were way down this year. He feels like a good, solid veteran depth piece to replace Gbenda, but he’s not as explosive as Hill or Lefau. It’s hard to see him starting or even playing significant minutes next year if he were to transfer here. - Transfer Portal Entries Thread (1st Week of December)
