  1. You let in too many players from the portal and it changes the institutional culture
  2. You and me both brother
  3. Time for Daddy Gerry to take Joe Z to safety
  4. Admit it: you buy the mayo in bulk
  5. A&M has Marcel Reed for a QB. They have to replace their entire OL and most of their D. They haven’t exactly brought in a bunch of worldbeaters so far. Not sure they’re in a place to clown anyone.
  6. Totally agree. Things are changing so fast that when you calibrate your strategy based on the previous year, you might miss the mark. Plus, going from two portal windows to one made this portal completely unpredictable. I don’t fault the coaches from calibrating their approach and focusing on the big fish. I just hope they made a strong contingency plan. Again, not too late to come out of this portal with a roster that’s significantly elevated over 2025.
  7. Thanks for your incisive commentary.
  8. That’s what they did last year and look what happened? They were trying to adapt their strategy to bring in experienced, high-level talent to compete for a natty right now. Maybe it was a miscalculation, but they simply couldn’t run it back another year.
  9. Texas before Sark: complete national laughingstock for over a decade Texas under Sark: goes to two straight semifinals and very nearly makes another playoff with an extremely young team Texas fans: we hate you, you suck, you’re drinking again, you’re a joke, you have no idea what you’re doing Okay, guys. Let’s just fire Sark and be done with it. I look forward to seeing your plan for the next 10 years.
  10. Thanks for your incisive commentary.
  11. Like I said, most of these people aren’t built for this. They’d complain if we snatched a bunch of second-tier G5 players who could play for Texas in a heartbeat instead of swinging for the fences. But when Texas swings for the fences in extremely competitive recruitments, they still complain. Part of the problem here is expectation setting. When fans hear that Texas is going “all in” and then they bring in a bunch of top-shelf players and the fans hear repeatedly that Texas feels “good about their chances,” fans overinflated their expectations. Most people aren’t wired to handle disappointment, when reality deviates from their expectations. But part of the blame almost certainly lies with the Texas insiders, who either horribly misread the intentions of the agents they were negotiations with or horribly overstepped by projecting too much confidence. I still think they can end this portal window with a much better roster than this time last year, but they have a lot of work to do and a very small margin for error.
  12. Most of yall are not built for this and it shows. Insinuating Sark is drinking again? Claiming we are going 7-5 next year when the portal hasn’t even closed yet? Get off your phones and feel the sunshine on your faces. Touch grass. Good lord.
  13. Some might disagree, but now’s the truly critical moment. It’s not a complete disaster yet—there’s still guys out there that would be a significant upgrade, like the Wisc guard. But fewer and fewer of them. Margin for error is almost zero. On the clock, Sark.
  14. He clearly injured his back. Injured…sprained. Sprained…Sprague. It’s a hi!
  15. From one sunshine pumper to another as the plane is in a tailspin
  16. Time to comfort @Joe Zura Gerry
  17. I must admit, even the most patient of us are starting to crack a bit. The staff had better start closing on priority targets now.
