96 Days Until Kickoff: Who’s your favorite No. 96 and who was the best?
My vote is for Whaley simply for the 2 TD game.

Countdown To Kickoff: 1928 Texas Longhorns (Burnt Orange Is Born!)
@Blake Munroe The graphics are fantastic! Keep it up! Love the idea of this countdown looking at each of the years. It's really cool

Putting the latest kerfuffle between Texas and Texas Tech to bed
I will come out and admit it.... My grad degree is from TTU. Up until the last couple of years, I was able to root for both schools except when they played each other. Then, it was always UT. It was fun. I had 2 dogs in the fight and there were more games that mattered to me on Saturdays. All that said, I have never been more embarrassed about being associated in any way with TTU. The way they have handled everything the last 2 years has been awkward, but the last 2 months has been abysmal. Knowing people at the university, I really didn't think we would see the day that they would be this petty and blatantly disgusting. I knew they had a major little brother syndrome and they would do some things that were over the top, but this is ridiculous. So long watching or caring about them moving forward, at least until major changes within the leadership of the athletics department takes place.

WCWS Live Thread: Texas vs. Tennessee Game 1 | Thursday
We haven't even been able to make good contact for the most part. The foul ball by Stewart was the best contact that has been made the whole game. And she followed that up with a grounder straight to 2nd base. It just feels like the offense isn't there.

This is accurate

WCWS Live Thread: Texas vs. Tennessee Game 1 | Thursday
This is a tough watch so far. Our ace didn't have her stuff (she seems off lately - several starts that haven't gone well) and our offense has been nonexistent. They can turn it on really fast, but it's not looking encouraging right now.

Vic
You can't help but listen to that and appreciate Vic as a man. You may not agree with every coaching decision he makes, but there's very few coaches who are as open and honest about how he sees the game and how he coaches. Thanks for posting. Proud that Vic is a Longhorn!

If you're new to OTF this week...
Been a member here since 2024. I live in the Salt Lake City area now (for the last 6 years) but was born and raised in TX and lived in the Austin area for 14 years before moving out here. My first UT memory is fuzzy. I couldn't tell you any details, but it was watching the UT vs A&M game on thanksgiving in the late 1980's or early 90's. I was born in 1983, so it was sometime in there. It was a tradition we always did with our extended family and still do to this day.

Do You Still Consider Nebraska a Blue Blood?
Winner. But I would also put Kansas with that stupid bird up there. And I know I will take some shots for this very unpopular opinion, but I have always thought the LSU helmet is highly overrated. It just feels like too much with them spelling out "Louisiana State University" and having the tiger. I like the uniform in general, but I've never thought the helmet looked good.

Star Mizzou RB Ahmad Hardy injured after shooting
I hate seeing stories like this. This is so awful.

Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby - oh boy!!!
I get where you are coming from, especially as I myself have dealt with addiction issues of my own, so I fully understand your concern. However, my own recovery has shown me that placing blame elsewhere for my own behaviors and choices is just another way to justify my choices and enable myself more. I would challenge that saying that OTF or other podcasts who are sponsored by a bookie business is no different than being sponsored by an alcohol company, car company, etc. Alcoholics could try and say that the podcasts or the sports they watch should not advertise alcohol even though millions of people enjoy alcohol responsibly. People that have been constantly in trouble with the law for speeding, reckless driving (hello UGA football players) could try and blame advertisements for sport cars. Again, I do feel where you are coming from. However, each person has to take and accept responsibility for their own choices and behaviors. No podcast pushed Sorsby to make 10,000 bets over the last couple years. If he wants to be healthy, he has to take his treatment seriously and put it above all else. I wish him luck and hope that he and everyone else can refrain from placing blame on anyone besides themselves for their own choices.

Conference NFL Draft picks
This would be very interesting, but very predictable.

Conference NFL Draft picks
Pretty interesting - the SEC had 19 more drafted players with 2 less schools to pull from compared to the B1G.

NFL Draft Live Thread | Round 7
It really has been surprising how many TE have been taken already. I know Endries wasn't mocked to go in the 3rd, but with this many taken, teams may take him earlier than anticipated. We will see. It seems odd that Manny hasn't gone yet with the number of DBs that have been taken, but the last 3 have all had high numbers of INTs in their careers. That was something Manny just couldn't do in game during his 3 years. We will see...

Hi x 2
This was the first thing that came to my mind

Why choose 1 when you can have 2?
This was my first thought as well. My optimistic hope is that it is genuine and we can make a huge impression and get in the game on this one, but my gut tells me that this is a negotiation strategy by the kid's agent and OSU will pony up the big bucks to make him stay in the Midwest.

How Steve Sarkisian's defensive practice plan has streamlined Will Muschamp's return to Texas
Love this too. So glad that Sark is having him come out and do some of these press availabilities. I know Bobby has talked about Sark being more confident in his team and that's why he's allowing this when he hasn't in years past. I think that plays into it for sure, but do you think that this is more of a Muschamp thing? Sark wanted him to be the "Head Coach" of the defense. I wonder if Sark is giving him that leeway to make the choice to do these or not. PK would never have wanted to even if he had the choice. I just wonder if this is part of Sark being a little more willing to step back and allow Muschamp to be in charge of some of this.

Happy 4th & 13 Day! 🤘
That was an incredible read and play. I, along with probably everyone else, was in shock at how the game got away from us in the second half. But, that play shows what made Quinn as good as he was. He was calm throughout all of it, made the right read and check and then made the throw in the moment it had to happen. Thanks for bringing this up!

Great read. Love the details we are getting about how practices are run and the areas of emphasis. Keep 'em coming!
