This is a sad example of how money corrupts good men. If this were another player not being paid 6 million dollars it wouldn’t even be a conversation he’s gone, no brainer.

I have spent a good amount of time in west Texas and around west Texas folks, Tech grads mostly, and they are generally really good hard working honest folks. I really hope the judges in Lubbock look at this kid, the coaches and administrators, agents, and the circus and tell them that regardless of how this may impact a football season they will not ever support an injunction like this. If you bet on your team you’re done, period. Morality from a judge and court, what a novel concept lol.

The sad truth is that if Tech had removed him from the team for this, supported his recovery efforts, and encouraged him to continue his education they would be a bright spot if college sports and have credibility to move into an even better position nationally as a program. They would also have (and still do but a lot messier now) a great argument to recoup their money from Cincinnati and IU for lack of oversight and potentially liability for failing to report gambling activity and protect a student athlete’s well being. I’m not a lawyer (obviously) but seems like a much better play than what they’re currently doing.

Get rid of commercials and let the fame run like it should. Advertise like they do in soccer. Around the field and at halftime. It’s truly sad, I never had any animosity towards tech. I have a lot of friends and family that went there. This stuff I can’t abide. It’s a farce how can McGuire or the staff expect to ever have any credibility with their players ever again.
