DAILY THREAD: Texas targets announcing today (Friday, 8:24 p.m. update)
Literally fighting the feeling of our recruiting is slowing down and we’re missing on key players but also realizing that this staff has earned some rope and we have depth at key areas. would’ve loved to have Calicut. But onto the next. Recruit through the whistle and don’t give up on the guys you want in the program.

Samari Matthews
In any case, no recruitment is over in July. Recruit through the whistle

Favorite games
Facing Clemson was a great viewing experience. I love it when teams who have never faced each other meet. Was great to see two teams with iconic logos and solid programs square off. Hope to see UT schedule more “unique” opponents like Penn State or Florida State. Something new. SEC opener against Miss State was also up there

Texas hosting three big time DL's this weekend (Friday 7:50am CST)
From Western PA originally and Central Catholic is a powerhouse program in the Pittsburgh area. Great to see the Horns tapping into PA!

Favorite Christmas Songs
What are some of your favorite Christmas songs? White Christmas by Bing Crosby ranks up there for me but I have to go with Fairytale of New York by the Pogues

2022 DLine Recruits
Proof is in the pudding. While Bo Davis is an excellent developer of talent, he left a lot of meat on the bone in DL recruiting and put us behind the 8 ball. We can only hope Kenny Baker has a better hit rate. Keeping Sharma and Charles in the class and securing Justus Terry was an excellent start. Let's see how he does.

Fasusi Signing
Could be nothing. But could be something. It's probably nothing. But maybe it's something? This is the loop in my head. In any case, tomorrow is gonna be nuts. Gird up your loins.

Other College Games: Week 14
Disaster of a start for Tennessee. Kick return for a TD for Vandy and an opening drive fumble.

Zelus Hicks
Appears to be considering official visits to Colorado and Florida Hopefully this is just him enjoying the recruiting process but definitely not a great thing to see this close to signing day. Any smoke to a flip?

When Did Your Fandom Start?
With our return to College Station on the horizon, I wanted to bring this up to our OTF family. Many of you were born into Texas fandom. Others went to the University of Texas and fell in love with the Longhorn logo. For me, that fandom started in my grandparents home in Western Pennsylvania in the late 1990s. Unlike many of the OTF family, I did not have the pleasure of being from Texas or attending the University. Rather, my upbringing is in a modest home in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Far closer to Pitt and Penn State than Austin, Texas. My grandpa didn't have a particular favorite team (aside from the Pittsburgh Steelers), but he would watch Penn State and Pitt when he could. And when my mom would work weekends, my grandparents would babysit me. Saturdays were for college football. My grandpa and I would watch Gameday on ESPN and then wait to see what games were on that day. We'd have to look in TV Guide or our newspaper (the good old days). On one day in particular we landed on a game where a team with orange uniforms were playing. Now me all of six years old was transfixed on the screen. I remember asking my grandpa who that team was? "Oh, that's Texas," he said. "They're the team in orange." I've been a fan ever since. It's a simple story with no frills but for a six-year-old kid the burnt orange uniforms racing across the TV screen was enough for me. And for this now 31-year-old man, the love for the Texas Longhorns will never waver. Hook'em! I wanted to ask my fellow OTF members when your fandom started as we gear up for the Lone Star Showdown this Saturday. Thanks for making this non-traditional Texas fan feel welcome!

Texas officially announces ND Games
Grew up an hour and change from State College. What are you memories of that game? Never got to see Penn State under Paterno live. And that was Beaver Stadium pre-expansion.

Texas officially announces ND Games
Wish they’d schedule Penn State eventually. A whiteout game at Beaver Stadium would be epic.

Final 2024 Season Prediction
My predictions: • vs. Colorado State (W) • at Michigan (L) • vs. UTSA (W) • vs. ULM (W) • vs. Miss State (W) • at Oklahoma - Dallas (W) • vs. Georgia (L) • at Vanderbilt (W) • vs. Florida (W) • at Arkansas (W) • vs. Kentucky (W) • at Texas A&M (W) Could see a 9-3 season as well. Just depends on the injury bug biting us again, how much of a step our RB room takes in Baxter's absence and our secondary.

Greg McElroy joins OTF!
Great interview as always, gents! Any chance of potentially getting Chris Simms on the show? Grew up watching him and I'd love to see him become more involved with the team.
