We have a heartbeat. Who knows what team shows up against OU. Texas has no point guard. Tre should bring the ball up. If Texas could just get Pope or Mark to get 15 or more they can win.

Few is a no brainer three years ago. Now I would prefer a younger coach. I am going to support whoever it is but he is not at the top of my wish list.

I am actually interested in what happens if Drew goes to Indiana and McCasland heads to Baylor. It gets even more interesting if Bill Self steps down for health reasons.

If it’s 6-8 years then older candidates should be considered as well.

Texas basketball, well all sports at Texas have fans that are win now. It’s in every game thread in every sport. RT was a risk to many fans. This guy has an excellent track record of winning, but it’s a massive jump from the MVC to the SEC. His team plays at a slow pace with most of the players playing heavy minutes. Some almost play the entire game. His pace and player usage will have to change. I am not saying he won’t work. Really no way to know that. CDC taking an another risk after a risk is something I don’t see him doing. He has the makings of an excellent coach though.

Nobody is denying his credentials. Will happily support him if he is the guy, but it’s a huge jump to SEC.

You just mentioned the ages of Otz kids. Nobody is as detailed as you. All I can say is bravo. You never dunked though.

That’s kind of where I am at. An offense that is exciting. As Gerry said talent evaluator(assuming Texas stays in the salary range and NIL he mentioned). Doing more with less. Otz shirt always looks like it’s going rip apart because it’s so tight. Sudan didn’t even have a gym to practice. Royal had to take them somewhere else.

CDC already knows that. There’s a lot of reasons he is widely regarded as the best AD in the country. I am going to support whoever it is. All coaches deserve that considering the job they take is basically an all day everyday job. I do that with all sports at Texas.

Texas can still get in the tournament. They won’t though. That team has checked out. It’s not in them to get the wins in the last two games and in the SEC tournament to get there. Getting to take a game seriously would be surprising.

Going off what Gerry said. It’s roughly twenty four million to get Oats, when you include everything he would want. That’s before you buy Terry out and his assistants. That amount of money has never been spent on a basketball coach in the history of the school. Gerry did say he will believe it when he sees it. Kind of where I am at as well. There is a potential domino effect that might happen. Indiana wants Scott Drew, Baylor will get a really good coach, they have a history of doing that, so it’s probably Tech’s coach they get. Say what you will about Texas Tech, but they have a big money booster spending freely in football and basketball right now. They will get a good coach. So the possibility of losing out on a good coach who will take the budgeted Texas job is exists. CDC is paid to figure all this out. My hope is he can convince the powers that be to spend heavily.

Sean Miller has been mentioned without changing the NIL or salary. If you are going to six to seven million and an increased NIL? Then you can really get a flash hire. Would love to see Texas actually do that. Saying it is one thing, doing it is another. Even if Texas had no NIL, it should still have a team that doesn’t get blown out by South Carolina. You can still have a team that doesn’t look lifeless against Georgia at home, knowing you need to win. If CDC can convince a flash hire coach to take a pay cut and the current NIL, and have them consistently finish in the top half of the SEC, they will build a statue of him.

Been wanting Tre to bring the ball up for weeks. Apparently getting in late from the Arkansas game is to blame.

JT Toppin is a beast! In all seriousness if Drew goes to Indiana then he probably goes to Baylor. Then Tech will definitely pay high dollar for a coach. They are serious about basketball. Have a huge donor giving money to football and basketball.

If they fire him tonight it’s probably Frank Haith.

All that NIL, Calapari, and Arkansas can’t beat South Carolina either! If CDC is talking to other coaches about what could work here, I pray one of those people is not Calapari.
