Codie sure smiles a lot for a guy that will be hitting the portal.

I am totally prepared for him to bench some players, no matter how bad the losses get. He has to establish a culture. Sit if you won’t do what I want you to do.

He knows basketball and what it takes. I agree it will be him leaving. And if he does that, good luck getting any serious coach here. He can do this with the portal and good marketing. They have to give him that. Great job finding Matas and Wilcher. Heide and thinking Codie had improved is where I find it hard to believe what he was seeing. I don’t think he looked at the returning players and said that’s enough to win. I can only guess that it was funds related.

Yes the portal money went to sheer lunacy after he got here. Still my question remains. Does Texas want to be a serious basketball program or just make money?

Millers face should tell you he isn’t intent on being that guy. For the money given, we got a good coach. He needs help and that’s the issue.

I am not calling for Miller to be gone after one year. That’s insane. He needs to have this team up and running at the end of year two.

Man Miller does not come here without more money than Terry.

What is he talking about?

Have a very good team in year two. He should not need three years to do that. In year three there will be zero momentum.

What does Texas really want to get from Texas men’s basketball? Do they just want to make a profit or be a serious basketball program? If they do want to be a serious basketball program, how do they think that works? Who markets the team? Are they going to spend money in the NIL needed to be a serious basketball program? They don’t have enough family connections(Goosby, Ogden) to get players to lower their NIL prices. Men’s basketball doesn’t have a name that gets players here for discounted prices.

Not three years.

At the time Gerry posted something that bears repeating. It was roughly twenty five million just to get Oats here. Then they have to get players.

And do they market men’s basketball! How many people even knew there was a game today?

I completely agree we don’t have the budget. But don’t build a new gym and hire Miller if you are not committed.

Two years with the portal and funds.

The defense is horrible and some low IQ players. How many times are they going to foul three point shooters? They have done it all year. Swain and Mark choking in free throws has cost them games.

If we don’t have the money Miller would have never come here. And if they are saying we changed our mind, then Miller is gone. I have not heard one report of Miller complaining about funds.
