GOOGLE THAT MAN!!
Some coaches are ahead of the curve. Despite all that is happening in college sports with NIL, Portal, strength of schedule, buying teams, stacking talent, this guy figured it out. This is why I don’t like “ well in this sport it takes three years of four years”. This guy did it in two years! Stop telling us it takes more time. And it’s not like they had a horrible season last year. This is no fluke. They were good last year. Please stop with the it takes time to build, well this is a different school…hear way too much of that in football and basketball.

CFP National Championship Game (Indiana vs Miami)
Their coach can. Can Sark? I am not use to seeing all these fourth down calls that work.

Texas A&M 74, Texas 70: Postgame press conference after a tough home loss
Alabama does but not as much as they used to spend. However they have a great coach, winning program and rabid fan base. Kentucky probably has the highest NIL in the country. Definitely don’t expect Texas to get close to them. Arkansas spends more as well. Would prefer Texas keep up with everyone but Kentucky. A&M probably spends less and they still won.

Texas A&M 74, Texas 70: Postgame press conference after a tough home loss
I never got off the bus. We have had three mediocre coaches in a row. The two at other schools are struggling and the other is commentating and working for an NBA team. It’s the “resources” that have always concerned me. Keep waiting for them to actually give the coach a fair chance to compete in the SEC.

Losing tends to make you adjust. I believe he will adjust. If he doesn’t then yes it won’t last long. Time will tell.

Texas A&M 74, Texas 70: Postgame press conference after a tough home loss
Are we talking about the SEC schedule? Texas plays a weak non conference schedule every year. I will take your word for A&M schedule being weaker in the non conference. In conference they have one loss. And they owned Texas the entire second half.

Texas A&M 74, Texas 70: Postgame press conference after a tough home loss
I agree on his style of play. However, I think with time he will move away from that style. I think he’s going to be an excellent coach there. I think Coach Miller is a very good coach. In his own words his players again, came out in the second half with no effort. There is a packed house, the game is tied, and you have guys having to be separated from each other. So with all that going on they come out soft. That’s on the players and him. Forget the talent right now. Don’t recruit or retain guys that do that. All that does is poison the locker room. Texas does not have a number one option. They have a few second options.

Not even close. Did you watch how close some of Texas games were early in the year? He called his players out after two games against nobodies. A&M only lose was in overtime against Tennessee. That’s the team that blew Texas out.

That actually a nod to RT. You don’t need height to rebound. Unfortunately his teams didn’t rebound well either.

And how much shorter is he than Matas?

How do you come to a packed house playing your rival and not have effort?

Texas A&M 74, Texas 70: Postgame press conference after a tough home loss
This is the part I love about Miller. He’s not afraid to call himself out. I give him a pass because he’s not making Heide give up four point plays that completely change the game or scoring points for the other team, but he did sign him.

A&M has a brand new coach too and they have one loss.

Effort again? It’s the Aggies that has effort built in.

Why this is a dangerous new era for a college football program
The best basketball example I can give is Jason Klotz. He redshirted and by his fifth year, he was arguably the best player on the team. There is only so much money, you can give a player that wants to develop. Going into his sophomore year, it’s do I take more money to go to a bad team and play right away, or do I take a second year to see where I am at? This is where the player has to trust that will not be could recruited over. That’s a big risk to take. If the player is recruited over then he just a year, and his NIL will be lower versus leaving after the first year.

Portal Palace
Go to sleep. Like I am about to do. You won’t dream about threes from the corner because you haven’t shot a basketball since Penders was the coach.

We don’t even know if he has ever watched any games of them at all.

He’s not moving!

Portal Palace
You think this was discussed? Goosby was already a 1st or second round pick. Do you really think Goosby came back based on the understanding that somebody not in the portal may come out? If that happens we are going to move you?
-
Portal Palace
Yeah a potential top fifteen pick that came back despite possibly being a first or second round draft pick. “Hey thanks for passing up the money and coming back, we are going to move you”.

Other schools message board conspiracies, meltdowns and screenshots
I don’t read every thread on the board. I don’t like that some us trash kids because they go elsewhere. However, I can’t remember anyone hoping or basically saying don’t worry, he will get injured. Somebody on here may have said it, I just know I have never seen one. I felt bad when Marcel went down early in the game. I was glad he kept playing.

Men’s Hoops: Texas vs. No. 13 Alabama game thread
I saw on X he was telling one of the players during warmups that he doesn’t have to be here. Not sure if it was last nights game. Wild guess is Codie. I don’t think he makes it to the end of the year. They can’t state any more emphatically he’s not wanted. Whatever is going on with him, doesn’t need to spill into the locker room.

Men’s Hoops: Texas vs. No. 13 Alabama game thread
It will be refreshing to see new players. I really think that game last night was the one where Coach Miller established himself as the unquestionable coach. He has ripped into those players multiple times. They were celebrating with him in the locker room afterwards. Seems like Wilcher hasn’t been the shooting guard with length they envisioned. The wouldn’t be looking for another shooting guard with length in the portal if he was. I actually think he has looked the best, based on expectations. I like his shot, but he really isn’t a threat to get to the rim. I was hoping to see more of him at the point guard position. Swain has the body and athleticism to be a pro, but you nailed it on the mid second round pick. He’s cost Texas games with poor free throw shooting and ridiculous stupid fouls. You can’t give him the ball late in games if he can’t make free throws. Coach Miller is a borderline miracle worker for getting Mark to play defense the entire game. He’s had the body and athleticism to be that guy since he left Houston. Finally, Texas needs a point guard. People can say all they want that it doesn’t matter in Miller’s offense, but it clearly does. My head will drop if I hear, he cost too much during portal time. If Miller gets one high value player and then it’s reported he’s looking for players in Sudan, then it will be obvious Texas still isn’t serious. Give the man the players and watch out. Matas is a good player but he’s a liability in the closing minutes too, he can’t shoot free throws and bully ball won’t work. He needs better footwork and a face up game. He is a horrifically bad fouler. It was his problem at his last school and it’s followed him here. The sad part is most of them are needless fouls. A lot of the times it has nothing to do with the play. Traore finally showed why Miller liked him last night. He was a monster and at one point Miller sat Matas and rolled with him. Huge win for Coach Miller last night.
