WR is NOT the priority. I even said we will most likely go get one anyway. Remember, Worthy dropped more passes than anyone on our current roster minus maybe Wingo. Do they need to catch the ball, hell yes. We are plenty talented at WR, they need to be more consistent and catch the damn ball.

Likely? That might be the understatement of the year.

Sadly, early in the year Arnold might have been better than Arch early in the year. I'm glad we got past that. My point is, his price is overrated even for potential production. A upright Manning with time to throw will make even the most average WR look good. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning did that their entire careers. Even Tony Romo did that for years.

We had one of the worst offensive lines in the SEC statistically, especially when it comes to running the football. 12th in rushing offense. 7th in passing offense. 10th in Scoring offense. 7th in sacks allowed. 11th in tackles for loss allowed. 9th in total offense. It is hard to show, but our receivers were above average in the SEC statistically with a poor OL, struggling QB(early) and spotty production from the TE position and a bad run game. Feel free to DYOR. I love your passion, but IMHO it is misplaced when it comes to your thoughts on our WR room. https://cfbstats.com/2025/conference/911/index.html

They didn't lose to a shitty Florida team either, Oh and they beat Ohio State and we didn't. Our WR room is and was young yet explosive, they aren't "mid". Mark this post, we currently have 3 WRs that will play in the NFL. That isn't mid. Will we get a receiver in the portal? Yes, I would be shocked if we didn't. I would also be shocked if they backed up the brinks truck for anyone. Don't take my word for it, Sark said essentially that this morning. He said "don't waste my time".

I'll add that we already have a dynamic WR on the roster that just needs to be consistent.

Not being mean, what exactly do we have different opinions on? Our Offensive line, running game and pass blocking was our weakness on offense. Do you disagree? If we agree on that, then we agree we should shore up the OL and RB room as priority. LB would follow as we lost two big contributors. We have lost one receiver, with someone ready to step up. WR is a luxury in the portal this year, not a priority. If you get a good one, great but I wouldn't be chasing stars at the expense of signing better priority needs. Ever heard of Cost, Benefit Analysis? I'm looking for bang for the buck, sustainable models. This is a business, it needs to be treated as such. Look how Indiana got where they are. You can laugh and say we aren't them, you would be right. They are better, they are where we want to be and should be.

A good IOL and running back would have had a better chance of changing the outcome. Once again, Our issues this season weren't associated with WR unless they were trying to block.

People were stacking the box to attack our weakness, the OL. It had absolutely nothing to do with our WRs not getting open. Guys were running free all year, early in the season Arch couldn't get it within 5 yards of open receivers. Go see the first play of the season as an easy example. Are you representing Cam Coleman? Sure reads like it. The juice ain't worth the squeeze. That money is better spent elsewhere. Ask Oregon about big money receivers and injuries.

I never said we can't or wouldn't upgrade the receiver room. I'm saying it isn't and shouldn't be a priority. You will/should upgrade that room solely with experience from existing players and the right fit with portal guys. That room didn't get upgraded from the previous season and it still isn't a glaring problem. The OL and an early season Arch was/is the problem. Arch was fixed. The OL with 4 new starters this season, mostly inexperienced, and a RB room that left a lot to be desired and not really a fit for the scheme are the biggest issues on the offense. Flashy, expensive wide receivers will do little to help the offense if you don't address the other problems by priority.

And I say WR doesn't need to be upgraded as clearly as I typed it. Did you read that?

You get more production from the TE position as we had in years past I would say we are fine with who we have at WR. You give a good QB time to throw the ball, he will find an open receiver. Job#1 is give the QB time by having a good OL and running game threat. This isn't complicated.

You need an upright QB with time to throw the ball to them. Take care of the OL and RB room and if there is money left over for a WR, I'm all for it as long as he isn't a cancer. Overpaying for a WR is dangerous.

Their jobs as wide receivers is to catch the ball, not drop it. They deserve every bit of criticism they get.

They were literally the most reliable ball catchers on the team. We desperately need RBs, LBs and IOL before we even sniff a WR.
