Texas 2025 Best Class Scenario: March 5 edition
Is Texas less serious about the Chad Woodfork and Kamauryn Morgan recruitments than they were earlier this year?

Texas 2025 Best Class Scenario: March 5 edition
-Ideal class for me would have 3 TE and 5 DTs. If Texas can get Derry Norris, Floyd Guidry, Xavier Ukponu or Dillan Battle into the class as the 5th take they absolutely should. No matter who else is in the class, those 4 can play and the room needs to be restocked badly. 2 Large humans over 2 years of DT recruiting is simply not going to cut it -Interesting recruitments Texas trails for like Jonah Williams and Damien Shanklin are including but not Kiotti Armstrong. Im curious to see how the second and possibly 3rd EDGE takes shake out behind Lance Jackson. Texas seems to not be recruiting Smith Orgobo very hard. After taking 5 DBs last class, it wouldnt surprise if Texas is happy to just take 4 DBs this class and not reach far down the board -Michael Terry and Tanook Hines are interesting considerations for ATH takes. Hines ran a 10.55 yesterday. If he can play DB as well as WR, Texas should take a real hard look at fitting him in this class.

Update on DB recruiting (Thursday 12:58 p.m. CST)
Preston can play. Any idea what he tested at the IMG combine the other week?

Update on DB recruiting (Thursday 12:58 p.m. CST)
Texas took a big DB haul in 2024. I think success in this cycle at DB would be.... -Sign Kade Phillips as the lead safety prospect -Close on Caleb Chester and his length/speed upside combo at CB -Find a way to get one of Sellers/Dorian Brew -Get the best player available if possible

Update on DB recruiting (Thursday 12:58 p.m. CST)
After this week's lost to Texas A&M, David Pierce may want Jonah Williams on this list so he can save Pierce's job ha

Thursday Morning Recruiting Nuggets (7:24 a.m. CST)
I dont think Texas will sign either the best RB or EDGE in the country given they come from the Deep South, but it doesnt hurt getting them both on campus. Wow

Thursday Morning Recruiting Nuggets (7:24 a.m. CST)
Sounds like Norris recruitment is about to change to be a lot more competitive and Texas is on the forefront of that change. I wonder how they view Norris vs other in state prospects who can play 3 tech. Would really love to see some combine testing results from Norris

Chace Sims talks Texas offer (Wednesday 2:07 pm. CST)
There are many years in recent history where a prospect like Sims would be a top 2-3 DT in the state Coming off a big season, it is important that Baker defend homecourt this cycle and capitalize on a really good year in Texas for DL talent. It is expected Texas will miss on most big fish nationally, but they cant sleep on really talented TXHSFB players while looking nationally

Kenny Baker was busy Tuesday: Four new offers (Wednesday 7:16 a.m. CST)
Yep, I count Brown as separate because hes committed. Shivers, Wynn and Charles are all great
-
Why not taken offensive lineman and make him into a defensive nose guard?
Takes much more athletic ability to play DT than offensive line. Most OL prospects cant do it and the ones that can are plus athletes youd want to develop on the OL. Devon Campbell for example

Five-star WR locks in Texas official visit (Wednesday 7:43 a.m. CST)
1. OU sucks 2. They already have 3 WR commits after taking 4 last year. 2 of the 3 this year are from Oklahoma

Four-star OT to visit Texas (Tuesday 5:01 p.m. CST)
Good question. I mean nationally recruited guys who have the frame and movement skills to be potential first round picks Brooks has a great frame and offers from places like UGA, Bama, Michigan etc

Kenny Baker was busy Tuesday: Four new offers (Wednesday 7:16 a.m. CST)
Of those nationally recruited offers.... I think a good and realistic goal for Texas would be to get 6 of them on campus this spring, 3 or 4 to OV and one of them to sign. My favorite of these prospects are Shivers and Charles, but a lot of good players here. Sharma looks like he has a world of potential but has some long ties to the Bama staff

Four-star OT to visit Texas (Tuesday 5:01 p.m. CST)
Flood is trying to get as many elite OT prospects as possible on campus. Awesome
-
A Pair of DL Offers Extended Tuesday Evening (6:16 p.m.)
Norris looks like a Landon Rink replacement. Good looking player who could play up and down the line in CFB
-
Texas offers “large human” DL
Looks like Coach Baker has an account here! With his new contract he should be able to afford an account lol Get Shivers on campus and then back for an OV and I will be very very happy. Not many HS DTs with movement skills can tilt the scales with T'vondre Sweat

DFW OL's lock in Texas official visit (Tuesday 12:16 p.m. CST)
Great stuff Gerry and Coach Flood Getting 8 dudes on campus to fill a five man class. Need to replicate the same for DL

Latest on 4-star DL target Kevin Wynn (7:25 a.m. central)
1. Will be very fun to watch how many elite national recruits actually get to campus this spring 2. I am still begging someone from the UT staff to offer Stephon Shivers!

Latest on 4-star DL target Kevin Wynn (7:25 a.m. central)
FSU has been recruiting really well with some high level prospects across the South. Hopefully they tank this season and all the shine rubs off of them!
