Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby - oh boy!!!
Kiffin got 3 really good QBs on the portal so while it wouldn't have been ideal, he would've just moved on to former 5 star Husan Longstreet.

Texas women's basketball portal thread
I believe they waited to have Edwards commit until after the portal closed so that they wouldn't lose any of Kitts, Watkins or Tournebize. 5 post players all needing minutes will be tough to manage.

Dia Bell Update (Sunday 10:10am CT)
This was the whole reason they took MJ Morris so that Dia could take the entire year to let his body fully heal without getting touched so that he'd be at 100% going into his QB battle with Lacey next fall.

So I guess the rumor of Breya convincing Jada Williams not to come to Texas was not true?

Texas women's basketball portal thread
Jerzy will play some defense and she's got an alpha type personality that makes her feel like she doesn't need to take a backseat to anyone. 1 of those 3 is coming off the bench and I guess we'll see how that person responds to it.

Texas women's basketball portal thread
The weird part is also the fit for her at SG considering that's where Tessa Johnson plays as well as 5-star recruit Jerzy Robinson. None of them have a PG skillset so one of them that expected to start and play heavy minutes will be coming off the bench.

SEC Media Day set for Texas
This. Each day has the schools listed in alphabetical order so it may not actually be scheduled out that way when the time rolls around.

Aiking Hall commits to Oregon
The real question is was this commit made by cannonball with Dan Lanning??

Marcus Spears Jr. reminds me of...
Yeah, I am still bitter that we were robbed of getting the dream 5A matchup in 2001 of the seeing Willowridge with the #1 in-state senior TJ Ford & the #2 in-state senior Daniel Ewing vs The Colony with the #1 in-state junior Bracey Wright & #2 in-state junior Deron Williams. 2002 was a special year as all of those top teams and players played each other that year. Bryan Hopkins was absolutely special before some foot/ankle injuries and from my understanding almost ended up at Texas if it wasn't for SMU swooping in and also offering his twin brother a scholarship when his twin wasn't even good enough to see the floor at Dallas Lincoln HS much less on a college basketball team. Hopkins was largely viewed as a better player(not prospect) than Bosh in high school.

Marcus Spears Jr. reminds me of...
Perkins was 2003 but 2002 was loaded especially in DFW with the guys you mentioned like Bosh, Bracey Wright, Daniel Horton but also Deron Williams, Bryan Hopkins and Ike Diogu and yet not one of those guys ended up at Texas. Thanks Mitch Malone 😒

Joyce Isi Etute from Luxembourg....women's hoops!
Their top 6 will be as good as it gets wcbb. If they get a couple more in the portal, they'll be extremely tough to beat (they already will be even without a couple portal adds).

This is tremendous… Texas 6-foot-9 baseball signee (setting hoops records)
I get the frustration but let's be honest, if they were elite guys that only played basketball they probably would be going to Florida & UConn respectively, that is if Duke didn't want them. Texas Football & Baseball have a pull that basketball doesn't have quite yet.

Bo Ogden nominated for Mr. Texas Basketball
He did struggle but he wouldn't be asked to guard quick jitterbug types that Little Elm was full of. Little Elm overwhelmed Westlake at all 5 positions and it hurt Ogden in the sense that he tried to just get the ball and go since he didn't really have a PG on his team to handle Little Elm's pressure and set him up or get them into an offense. Problem was Little Elm was extremely quick at all positions and sped him up rushed him into turnovers. I agree with Gerry in that I think he'll look better going against and defending similar sized players especially while surrounded with other high end talent instead of what we saw tonight against a bunch of 5'10-6'2 guys.

Russell Wilson & his son take a visit to Texas
Throughout her music career she mostly claimed Atlanta as her home town.

Joyce Isi Etute from Luxembourg....women's hoops!
Crittendon is from Colorado. Crittendon, Bjorn and Spaight are all McDonald's All-Americans and each one the Gatorade Player of the Year for their respective states. Joyce Isi Etute is also considered an international 5-star. Holguin is a really strong shooter that scored 61 points in a game earlier this year and was the youngest girl on Kobe's Mamba's AAU team. Most of the girls on the team that weren't involved in the tragedy graduated last year.

2026-2027 Women's Basketball Roster...LOADED!!
I'd argue that infamous 2009-10 roster that made it to #1 and then Barnes blew up mid-season was on that level for sure. That team had a McDonald's All-American as a walk-on. It also still keeps me up at night thinking about what CJ Miles could've/should've been for the 05-06 team or how glorious it would've been if we could've talked LaMarcus, PJ & Boobie into coming back to play one year with DJ & KD. One other thing, I know you mentioned Harden was close to coming to Texas and I know Texas gave him a look but elite guard in that class that I remember was extremely close to coming was Jerryd Bayless. Now while he didn't have the pro career Harden had I wonder how his size and athleticism would've helped vs a D-Rose & Memphis.

Pate on the 2022 A&M recruiting class
You saw it in real time as the offensive skill positions were seriously lacking in that class. WR class of Brennan Thompson and Savion Red, Maalik Murphy who was essentially signed to be a backup. That class was all about the oline and we were also able to get nice contributions from guys like Burke & Blue.

2025-26 Women’s Basketball Thread
I think we'll wind up as the 3rd #1 seed behind UConn & UCLA. I think them only having the one loss to us but rolling through a very strong B1G conference will trump us because of our 3 losses (Vandy loss sealed our fate here) despite the head to head. We'll still end up in Fort Worth though.
-
2025-26 Women’s Basketball Thread
No, I believe the top seeds get to pick. UConn is probably picking Fort Worth because its closer than Sacramento. UCLA is obviously picking Sacramento which is why we just needed to get ahead of South Carolina so that we could pick Fort Worth before they do.

New Jersey number thread
Is Jelani McDonald officially back in 4 as well? That might confirm which side of the ball Bishop will start out at even though most of us assume he'll start out on offense.

ESPN Way-Too-Early All-American Team (5 Longhorns on 1st team)
Only thing to give the Aggies credit for was getting the right schedule. Georgia has been the dominant team in the SEC for the last 5 years and A&M hasn't played them once in that span meanwhile we've been in the conference 5 mins and have had to play them 3 times. They avoid them again this year too.
