Arkansas is a real option more because of Cal's history moreso than his brother playing there. There isn't this huge affinity for Arkansas in the household. From what I heard his brother wanted to play at Texas although it didn't work out. His brother's history at Arkansas makes USC a real option too. I think this is a Duke, Texas, Arkansas, USC recruitment without any inside intel and he could end up at any 9lof the 4 for multiple reasons.

He was recruited as a rb at usc but they switched him to wr his sophomore year which might be part of why he left but it let's you know that catching the ball and running good routes is right up his alley.

I'm not sure I see what Michigan has over Texas without May, Mara, Morez & Yaxel or Arizona for that matter. I'd add Virginia to the list but they beat us down at home so thoroughly that I'll reserve judgment on them for the moment.

I feel like I remember TJ being more of a top 25 guy than a top 10 guy back then. He was vastly underrated as Texas talent wasn't fully respected in hoops back then. The secret of Texas talent didn't fully get out until the 2010s. TJ's McDonald's All-American performance did let everyone know that he was different.

Even though Penn St is Iowa St in Nittany Lion pajamas, they're schedule is so easy that they'll probably get to 10 wins rather easily. Clemson is not making the cfp and is not winning that game. To me there is a clear top 7 teams made up of Texas, Georgia, Ohio St, Oregon, Indiana, Miami and Notre Dame. There are only 5 regular season games where two of those teams face each other and all 5 of the following should be on any list about the top 10 games: 1. Ohio St at Texas 2. Oregon at Indiana 3. Ohio St at Indiana 4. Oregon at Ohio St 5. Miami at Notre Dame

2000 - you meant 2001 but if mack goes to major sooner we probably get the pleasure of getting our heads beat in by an all-time great Miami team. 2014 - Bad luck chuck still finds a way to guide us to an embarrassing season. Random question: In your time covering recruiting has there been a time where one state had both the #1 & #2 players in the nation for football (Brewster & Meredith) and basketball (Spears Jr & Black) at the same time?
