How I Feel About Each Room Post-Spring
We won’t run just 2 linebackers on the field all the time. besides cryer who else has experience? If biles or smith are injured there is a huge drop off.

OTF: A target will be off the board soon
Just a feeling. Look at the breadcrumbs from Gerry as well. I think he's got immense potential.. maybe not "best recruit in years" potential that Justin Wells seems to think.. And in this NIL era, how much are you willing to pay for guys to develop for 2-3 years before playing, and which top end recruits will even accept this? OL is the hardest position to figure out NIL allocation IMHO.

How I Feel About Each Room Post-Spring
Here's how I'm considering this: QB - Great. Star QB1, feel good about QB2.. Only knock is lack of experience at backup with QB2. RB - Good. Love that Cooper has made strides. Still concerned that over a long SEC season we will lose 1 or 2 backs at times for injury, and then what will happen. Also not sure about ball security issues for the transfers yet. WR - Great. A 2 deep of true talent. Just nothing really concerning. TE - Good. A little surprised we haven't heard more from Mansunas. Not sure if we'll have a reliable pass catching threat yet. OL - Good. 1st line OTs are among best in nation. Backups should be fine. OG still in question, with Baker transitioning, hoping for someone to emerge at fall call at LG but at least we have better options than last year. C is okay, but no experience at backup is a little concerning. DL - Great. Great depth even if we don't have a clear first round talent (maybe). DE - Great. Great depth as well. Only question is who can rush the passer the best if Simmons is not on the field. LB - Good. Biles = stud, Smith = great. Will wait to see on Atkinson, Cryer, and the rest. CB - Good. Would have liked to hear more from Philips in the spring, but should be a good rotation. If injuries set in, who is CB4? S - Questionable. Not having Jonah hurts. Is Jelani, Raptor, and Filsaime enough? Will we need Black here? ST - Questionable. Not sure we have a reliable kicker or punter yet... could be downright concerning if there is not improvement in the fall.

NFL Draft Live Thread | Round 7
Clear osu made him a good nil offer. I just recall something about him not being the size that we expected during a visit or something along those lines. Maybe it was just an excuse and we were simply beaten by osu.

NFL Draft Live Thread | Round 7
Was the staff passing on Klare and taking Endries really due to size? Because the NFL apparently didn’t agree

Does anyone miss the SEC being on CBS?

Going "all in" for elite national recruits 2026 vs past few years
I like your list. Considering dead money in nil for guys that may not play much year one, I’m going with royal, sales, merrdith, and Currie, but I still really want Camara and Williams Callas

Going "all in" for elite national recruits 2026 vs past few years
I've been quite curious which big time recruits we are going "all in" for this year. In the last few years there have been a handful of guys that we have basically refused to lose out for. Guys that perhaps we were behind for and surged ahead or flipped from another school. This seems like great strategy.. spend big NIL on guys at positions of need that will play early, potentially hurting rival schools that have the same need. 2025 Justus Terry, Jaime Ffrench, Josiah Sharma, Myron Charles, Kade Phillips (less dramatic recruitments in the year Lance Jackson, Jonah Williams, Lockett) 2026 Tyler Atkinson, Richard Wesley, Derrek Cooper, James Johnson (less dramatic recruitments in the year Bishop, Bell, Matthews, Turntine) 2027 Candidates so far - Easton Royal, Monshun Sales, John Meredith, Laden Williams-Callis, Ismael Camara, Semaj Stanford, Brock Williams, Kasi Currie. Don't think we're in it enough with KJ Green yet. Who do you think we will refuse to lose for in this group? Others?

Quick note on a prospect that was supposed to be on campus today | Thursday AM
Georgia was ahead earlier this spring for Brock. Hopefully we can land one of these two.

Opened some Topps Chrome Football today
That’s awesome. I recently started collecting cards with autos, though focusing on ones where they are wearing Texas jerseys. Unfortunately this is getting quite expensive. Did manage to pull an Arch auto from a panini box though which was sweet.

Future Longhorn?
Lots of familiar names in recent years as recruits.. Brockermeyer bros, Swayde Griffin, Kaydon Finley, Trissel's stepson Cook, Logan Lokey, Jordon Young of the top of my head. I think Ted Koy's grandson is a 2028 recruit as well.
