Monday Baseball Update (4:20 PM)
I would be thrilled with either one, but how can you not like this guy?

Notes on Michael Fasusi (3:40 CST)
For the sake of argument, let’s just pretend he thinks that he will have better opportunities and will be developed better at OU. He would still say the exact same thing. He truly values the plan and development of Kyle Flood. When did anyone enjoy Norman more than Austin?

OU Inks 6-Year Extension With Venables
The Sooners keep focusing on the modest raise to Venable’s salary. The key provision is the buyout clause. Unlike Sark’s original contract (and presumably the extension, I haven’t seen the terms) it is a fully guaranteed contract. So that adds another $16,000,000 or so to the buyout. At least it has a mitigation clause. Jimbo‘s contract was unique in that it was fully guaranteed with no mitigation provision.

Kiotti Armstrong Commits to Texas A&M
Emaree Winston seems more shaky than Brandon Brown, unfortunately.

I must be doing something wrong. I could only report and share. I saw no way to edit to give a shout out to VaHorn.

Texas/NFL Draft
Sark got off to a slow start, but he is on track to have 13 players drafted during his tenure at Texas. It took Mack Brown five years to match that (7 drafted after 3 years).

'They were promised Texas would never come in': Paul Finebaum explains SEC's betrayal of Texas A&M
He said they felt they were promised that [Texas] would never come in, and then he quickly added they WERE promised that Texas would never come in.

Four-Star DL to Visit Texas for Spring Game (Saturday 3:23 p.m.)
Sorry, Gerry. I guess you just have to deal with people that don’t like this sort of behavior. I’m sure Baylor mods would’ve said the same thing when people criticized Art Briles. Give me a break with this BS. Art has done nothing wrong.

Four-Star DL to Visit Texas for Spring Game (Saturday 3:23 p.m.)
You don’t need to be promoted him all over Twitter. Why don’t you ask some hard-hitting questions to Sark like why are they still pursuing him? What do you think of Byron Murphy, Xavier and Jonathan Brooks promoting the story of Gus knowingly trying to poison him? You know, kind of like a reporter would?

Four-Star DL to Visit Texas for Spring Game (Saturday 3:23 p.m.)
If he is still pursuing, I’m out. That’s the same blind loyalty that got Baylor where it is now. Adrift.

Four-Star DL to Visit Texas for Spring Game (Saturday 3:23 p.m.)
And why is On Texas promoting him on Twitter? This is really a bad look.

Four-Star DL to Visit Texas for Spring Game (Saturday 3:23 p.m.)
Why are you listing this as a visit? Texas is not this dumb but now we are held out to every other fan base whose school has backed away as being so.

Texas 2025 Best Class Scenario: March 5 edition
I remember when Mack Brown wouldn’t extend offers for the next class until the February signing day. It would always seem like everyone was going to LSU, until they didn’t. Hopefully, we can pry Moore more away. His mother is the biggest UT fan ever.

Texas 2025 Best Class Scenario: March 5 edition
This is the thread I didn’t know I needed, but desperately do. Every time a new class rolls around it’s hard to keep track of the new names. This is perfect.

Recruiting — Steve Sarkisian vs Mack Brown
I think that is definitely true. My main question, however, is what he could have achieved without his self imposed constraints on recruiting. At times, he was more interested in being genteel than successful.

Recruiting — Steve Sarkisian vs Mack Brown
Sark seems to be the first real competitor to Mack Brown when it comes to recruiting. I recognize that this is a different era with NIL, but both coaches excelled at roster building over multiple recruiting cycles. I’m interested in everyone’s thoughts on the two when it comes to recruiting. From my perspective, Mack changed the recruiting landscape with his emphasis on early recruiting, and locking down the state of Texas. People sometimes point to A&M joining the SEC as opening the floodgates to out of state schools, but if you look at the old Austin statesman rankings, the floodgates were open in the 1990s also. But I always wonder what might have been if Mack didn’t handcuff himself. Once a player a recruited to another school, he stopped recruiting, at least in the early years. He didn’t like JUCOs. He was also focused on building recruiting momentum, and the percentage of offers extended to offers accepted. So we often ended up with a lot of commitments from the early camps and seemed to cast our net too narrowly. Just looking at Gerry’s post on the recent nationwide DL offers demonstrates the difference in approach. I like recruiting to the whistle but it can be nerveracking at times. We desperately needed OL in the 2022 class and at times it look like we would fall far short.

Quick Update on Portal Tight End Addition
He got a lot of heat from the Alabama fans when he posted a video of himself smiling and dancing after the Texas loss. The next time Texas plays Alabama he will be able to post a video without being accused of celebrating after a loss. Just saying…

Saturday: What Will Texas Do Given New NIL Ruling?
None of these tweets support anything you are saying. They are speculating that the plaintiff may be successful in the litigation. If they are, then you will have a final verdict which might be appealed. Until that happens, you have nothing. Obviously, the temporary injunction applies to the entire country. But that’s all it is. A temporary injunction staying any enforcement action during the pendency of litigation. Full stop. I think you are either overreading or not understanding what they are saying. I do agree that Bobby may be similarly misunderstanding the entire situation.
