Figured this was coming. Poorly defined, if defined at all, "legitimate business purpose" was a legal landmine waiting to be stepped on. If we want real rules, they're going to need to come from Congress or athletes will need to be made employees with CBAs. Otherwise, it's a litigation field day for us lawyers with the way the SCOTUS ruled against the NCAA.

Sad situation to watch a good player getting ready to make it out of a bad area just throw it away. Hope he figures his life out.

EOs aren't "law" per se. Since SCOTUS has already broadly ruled on this issue, the EO is fighting upstream. I don't see this moving the needle much. I do see a lawsuit for a clearinghouse denial coming soon.
