For the record, the team ended up splitting the games with the Dutch. They lost 8-7 on Monday (after giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th) and won 7-5 yesterday. If you are interested, you can watch the games

I don't disagree that Foreman may have had better numbers than Priest, but it is not accurate to say that Priest's team had virtually nothing but him. Shon Mitchell was actually the much more heralded recruit on the team and probably got more starts/snaps (much to my wife's chagrin). And let's not forget a RB by the name of Ricky Williams who was there for Priest's senior year. That was one of the most stacked RB rooms in UT history.

Apparently, Paxton's price tag/corruption was higher than thought. The Texas Tribune reported today that Paxton received $275K from Campbell the day before he intervened.

Like any good attorney, Kessler is going to take every penny that he can from the money for which Sorsby settled with Tech.

Honestly, this isn't an NCAA problem. The exact same arguments could have been made if the NFL tried to enforce their rule. When you have a corrupt judge with an agenda, you can get your way for at least a period of time. The difference is, there is no TEAM in the NFL that would allow this to happen. This is 100% a Tech issue. Right now, I think the Texas Legislature and their ability to defund or financially punish Tech is the only thing that has any power. It won't happen, but I would love to see Abbott call a special session to address Tech's conduct.

He is definitely up and down. But situations really matter. He is much better when he comes in for a clean inning. It seems like when he comes in for high level situations like last night, he gets too amped up and overthrows, causing the control issues. That is why he didn't make it (and probably never will) in the closer role. But he had a couple of good outings recently, and I still think he can help us in the final push. I actually feel like if they had put him in to start the 6th, instead of trying to extend DV another inning, he probably would have been fine for an inning or two. But I also understand why they would want to ride DV as long as they could.

I think the OP's point is that the way most people talk about ALL IN is like the professional model of sacrificing the future to win today. It is a little different in the college game, but people want to throw a pile of money at every prospect who may possibly have the talent to help us next year, regardless of what it to the culture of the team. But Sark didn't build this program to be like Tech. He didn't build it by throwing piles of cash at mercenary players with no regard for how they fit in the locker room or how their deal will impact the morale of the team. And taking that approach this year because we "can't waste Manning's and Simmon's last year" threatens to destroy the entire model/culture he has built. I am all for Sark doing everything he can to fill holes through the portal, but I also agree with the OP that it should not be at the expense of the PROGRAM and TEAM in 2027 and beyond.

Still the only game I have ever been to that I didn't stay for The Eyes. We were in the upper deck, the wind was whipping, and it was colder than anything I had ever felt. And we were about as prepared for the weather as the Horns were for the Canes. We made it to late in the 4th quarter, but it was more than we could stand...

I was in school at the time and my girlfriend (now wife) did not know much about football, but went to all the games with me. She LOVED Priest (or Anthony as he was originally known). I have no idea how she had such an eye for talent, but she always questioned why he didn't get more playing time (over Shon Mitchell or that Ricky guy). She was so infatuated with Priest that I ended up getting her a Priest jersey that she got him to sign as he walked off the Tower steps during the a&m Hex Ralley. She still has it in the closet. There can't be many of them around since it wasn't legal to get player's names on jerseys back then... I can tell you she really enjoyed that Sun Bowl!

I don't think anyone has slandered PK. People are just noting he had some flaws and have differences of opinion on whether he is good, great, or elite. And the concerns aren't new, nor are they different than fans have about a lot of really good defensive coordinators. All of the flaws being discussed are the same ones that people have complained about after every loss (or win that was too close). At the end of the day, I think Sark just wanted to be more aggressive. PK is great, but I think he probably suffers with a little bit of Mack Brown's too scared to lose syndrome. And Sark has decided that to get over the hump (especially in the SEC), he needs someone more aggressive.

I'll second the Sports Psychologist. I don't know if Texas routinely works with one, but they should. I know that under Saban, Alabama used to regularly bring in Dr. Bhrett McCabe, who also works with a lot of the top professional golfers. Right now Arch, and several of the offensive players, need help with the mental side of the game. We always say that the mental side of any sport is of such great importance, but how many people/teams actually practice it.

Jim is a great guy, extremely smart, and he LOVES UT football. So, I expect his alignment with Eltife and CDC will be 100%. He is conservative and I probably will not agree with everything he does as President. But I can also promise you that he should NOT be lumped in with Ken Paxton.

Galvan clearly tweaked something on his big swing earlier in that at-bat. Right after the swing he asked the ump for additional time and was trying to stretch and gather himself. And then he was clearly limping around the bases.
