Benefits of being in the SEC vs not
Genuinely curious...what are everyone's thoughts about the benefits (or lack thereof) of being part of the SEC a couple years in? Looking at the schedules of Texas Tech, Miami, Oregon, and even Ohio St as top 10 teams in other conferences, they have a much clearer path to the playoff than Texas will ever have especially with the SEC moving to 9 games and the consistently high competition in the conference. Does the recruiting advantage, higher revenue share, etc. outweigh the negatives of a much more difficult regular season and path to the playoffs? Does Texas further hurt itself scheduling non conference games like Ohio St? Hard to feel like those games are of any benefit given that playing say, Rice, instead of OSU and getting an easy W would have Texas a current top 10 team 5-1 and still with 1 game margin of error for the CFB playoff. As a fan, I love the big games, but I also like the idea of being in the playoff picture more often.

Thoughts on Arch Manning
Given how Klubnik specifically has looked this game (and game 1 last year FWIW) I think maybe we can cut Arch some slack and expect him to use the next 3 weeks to get back on track and take care of Florida to start conference play.

Thoughts on Arch Manning
When does Sark give up the play calling duties and hire a true offensive coordinator to focus on executing a gameplan? Seems like a common occurrence in these big games getting outclassed on the coaching/preparation front. Might be better to delegate some of those responsibilities so sark can focus on being a head coach more and less an offensive coordinator.

Thoughts on what happened to No. 1 Texas in a 14-7, season-opening loss to No. 3 Ohio State
We are clearly more like Penn St as a program than Ohio St and Georgia at this time. Penn St loses a lot of games like you saw today. Hopefully we can get that fixed and bounce back.

Couple of notes on Jonah Williams (Friday 6:55am CST)
Thoughts on his baseball future? Does he redshirt this year and dedicate his time solely to football next year? Might be the smart play if football is the priority.

Arch off-season
Not saying this is wrong, but that NFL Rookie Watch account is one of the biggest click bait accounts out there. They started a lot of the bogus Manning transfer rumors.

What are we not seeing that's causing someone to not at least take a chance on Quinn? He's still a young QB and the arm talent is far superior to some of the QBs already drafted.

Why is North Carolina getting so much hate?
North Carolina has only beat 2 teams in the field of 68 with ample opportunity to do so. Their AD was head of the committee. Just a couple more reasons in addition to their 1-12 quad 1 record.

Question for the community
1. No, but as someone who follows the mountain west closely, San diego st has no business in the field. Lots of talk about UNC, but SDSU is less deserving. 2. Yes. I still see the potential for a 2021 UCLA type team here.

Bubble watch
Why is North Carolina in the field with a 1-11 record vs quad 1? That's atrocious. In on name only?

Hottest Longhorns Takes
Not a hot take, but I did wonder what this year's team would've been like with Bijan. Feel like we had that guy just a year or two too early.
