Don’t get some people. Great defensive mind. Having a former head coach helping with the defense to add another set of eyes would be great. He’s still earning $ from Kentucky so your get him for 1 or 2 years as a discount and then they move on to their next gig.

Great time for Whisenton. His highlights showed a great back with good size and contact balance. Combine that with track speed and this guy could really be a top rb.

I used to buy Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle and Austin Am Statesman the day after signing day to get a view from across the state. I remember when newspapers actually broke commitment news. The days of calling Jerry Scarborough 1-900 number and the NRA (national recruiting advisor) for recruiting info are way behind us.

Will be interesting to see if it still works with tech and aggy both in playoffs this year and both have a lot of NIL backing. Tech and Aggie early commits include top 20 instate guys we met with this week and are trying to get visits from Brewster (dl), Redmond (dl), DeMarrion Johnson (OT), Snell (S). Others that we’ve offered and committed to OU, A&M and Tech include: Keldrid Ben (rb), Benny Easter (wr), Kaden McCarty (edge). I know Sark likes to play the long game and continue with evals. We’ll see if it works this year.

Grandfather played at UT if I’m not mistaken. If there is one criticism of this staff it’s we get so far behind on underclassman. It will be interesting to see if we can make up on some of the 2027 guys already committed to schools like A&M and Tech. I think these schools know to come out hard when the players are young because Texas isn’t very aggressive until the spring of their recruits JR year.

Easter looks pretty good on film. Extremely productive the last 2 years.

Gerry, do you expect any visitors this weekend?

Mendoza was a special player at qb and they lose a lot of players. Indiana will be good, but would bet against a repeat.
