No. 21 Texas 16, Kentucky 13 (OT): Postgame with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A goal-line stand by the defense and Mason Shipley’s third field goal of the night helped No. 21 Texas avoid a staggering upset on Saturday with a 16-13 overtime road win over Kentucky at Kroger Field.

On Texas Football has live coverage of the postgame press conference with coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns.

This should be about as fun as a root canal.

Just think you found a PSA 10 Michael Jordan rookie card in your closet. You should be good then.

Sark said things were "sliding the other way," but Texas won the game.

They had eight first downs!

He specifically mentioned the false start in the fourth quarter, the holding penalty in overtime and getting out of bounds at the end of regulation.

Sark on the offense: "We've got to minimize the self-inflicted wounds and be more efficient. We weren't efficient enough tonight."

He’s gonna lose the last half of the remaining schedule with bs like tonight

Sark, when asked about Arch Manning's performance, said things up front "were way too leaky for him."

We have to find an offensive line that can protect our QB. We definitely missed Hutson today. Was really hoping for a better performance from Robertson. Hey the DEFENSE showed up big time. We do need some work falling on a fumble apparently lol. Hook’em!

As fans - we’ve been fed lies.

lies about “how great this team/Arch/WR/OL” would be during the off season.

I don’t believe for one second that this team looked “like a SEC/NC title contender” during the off season.

i love this OTF product. But GD yall need to be honest with what you see. There’s zero freaking chance yall saw no false starts, good Brandon baker play, accurate Arch throws, and great Wingo hands all summer.

that massive jump from 80k to 210k subs must only be bots….. cuz any human can see the disparity between offseason reporting and the current product on the field.

They weren’t efficient at all. Efficiency was no where to be found when the offense took the field.

Why does our offense look stuck? There's no rhythm, and it just looks like we're hoping for things to develop instead of scheming them. It feels like we're asking Chat GPT to call our offense.

Would help if the QB could complete a pass.

To ride the defense and special teams, you have to play more efficient football. Sark said the offense didn't do that tonight.

Called a shovel pass.

Can’t go 10-2 without going 5-2

Sark: Kentucky "has really good coaches and I've got a ton of respect for Coach Stoops."

He said Kentucky hit timely blitzes and minimized the explosive plays.

Sark said he didn't consider a quarterback change.

Of course he didn’t. Arch has to go 0/25 before that happens

I wish he would say “I need to be better, I didn’t put the guys in enough situations to be efficient”

Sark is losing his charm. Needs to keep it together. Otherwise he’s on the gundy track thinking Texas football fans are idiots.

”how would the other 135 teams do in the swamp” - well - USF, Miami and FS all looked better than us.  And you make more than every single one of those coaches
