Four-Star DL to Visit Texas for Spring Game (Saturday 3:23 p.m.)

Four-star Lake Travis DL Gus Cordova to visit Texas for Spring Game

Texas will receive an unofficial visit from 2025 Lake Travis defensive end Gus Cordova for the Texas spring game on April 20.

Cordova has continued to be recruited by the Longhorns since his visit for the junior day in January and told me in February that the staff has continued to be actively pursuing him.

The Lake Travis EDGE also locked in an official visit to USC for June 21-23.

The next couple of months will be loaded with unofficial visits. Cordova told me last month he hoped to get up to as many as nine campuses in the months of March and April.

Cordova tells me he also has a handful of unofficials for the upcoming month:

  • March 23 – USC
  • March 30 – Florida
  • April 6 – USC
  • April 13 – Tennessee

Still a bad idea.

Again, Lake Travis, Texas, and the other nine schools that are planning on getting him on campus this spring have all done their due diligence here. Rushing to judgement blindly off of a one-sided story is likely not the best outcome.

To be fair, Lake Travis ISD has been lying their ass off to save face.  And I’d guess that’s where the schools are getting a lot of information from.

Due diligence my ass you being played bro. But thanks to you the ex players will tweet again and this will be over so thanks!!

Not sure how you are saying it was one sided, the incident is well documented by several sources and articles. I will gladly link them if you are not aware of them.

Not worth it it is not gonna happen. The only due diligence that needs to be done is by Vogel. But ex players that understand culture sure as hell gave their opinion.

Then mysteriously a dime dropped to Anwar no interest. He is believing this kid and the LT CYA crowd. LMAO at this . Done with it , I'll come back Spring Game and see if he is there.

Agree TTown, just surprised at the defensiveness CJ decided to take on the subject. It is not a rumor, maybe if his child or relative was the victim he would view it differently.

It worried he will never wear Burnt Orange . Probably dropped the story for clicks. I'll wait for the rebuttal to come from others . Should be fun !

Why are you listing this as a visit? Texas is not this dumb but now we are held out to every other fan base whose school has backed away as being so.

And why is On Texas promoting him on Twitter? This is really a bad look.

Texas literally talked to him a few days ago.

We can’t act like the recruitment doesn’t exist.

Certainly not what Texas needs if Sark is promoting culture.

Sark is the architect of the culture. If he is still pursuing, I'm in. I'm sure he has way more resources than most of us on this board.

I’m a nobody.  I’m also a graduate of the University.  I’m a 20 plus year season ticket holder.  I don’t want him on the team.

Has there ever been an example where "tHey'Ve DONe theIr due diLigEnCe" has actually been true? This is exactly what OU fans said when they hired Jeff Lebby. Texas State tried to sell their duE diLigEnCe when they recruited Jayden de Laura.

If culture is such a big thing for sark like he portrays then former players from last seasons team tweeting out the story should be all he needs for this kid to be a hard pass

If he is still pursuing, I’m out. That’s the same blind loyalty that got Baylor where it is now. Adrift.
