Re: potential signs of concern on 2025 CB recruiting, to what extent does the deep 2024 CB class at Texas impact top prospects that want to see a pathway to early playing time?

Brooks was the team’s best corner in 2023 by a clear number. Only 44-percent of attempts to his man were completed.

No, he’s not perfect. But no corner is these days. Jabbar Muhammad allowed in the 60s range by comparison.

That’s a little bit of what I’m thinking.

That’s not just one of the elite guys off the board at the position, it’s two.

By no means is it time to panic, but it is something to be aware of.

Oregon's not without talent or depth in the secondary.  Like us, they always recruit well, and they just signed a good high school class with a couple national top 110 corners.  They also got one of the top juco corners in Lione Laulea, plus a good UTEP portal corner in Kam Alexander.  Let's not act like our talent level is so overwhelming so he can walk into Oregon and start.

No, they're not without talent. But they don't have two returning starters. They recruited him to start. Texas recruited him to compete. There's a difference.

Not saying which one is right, but the two teams see their corner spots differently is all.

I trust the staff to identify if Muhammad would come in and be a Day One starter or not. If he was, I think they would have recruited him like Golden or Bond.

People tend to highlight the negative things and tend to forget the positives.

For example - no one ever thanks the payroll team when they get their paychecks (which happens every week, other week, or monthly for years, but they are quick to complain when a mistake happens for whatever reason (system error, manager forgets to approve time, etc.)
