Arkansas has fired head coach Sam Pittman according to Pete Thamel.

Offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino has been named the interim.

There it is.  I thought they would wait another game or two for his buyout to drop but either way even Ray Charles could see this coming.

I did not think it would be that quick, but it was probably a mercy killing.  Good old Petrino back.   

It'll be interesting to see how attractive that job is for coaches

Petrino should turn that defense around. 😂

Firing head coaches in September, it's a brave new world. Were these schools really expecting something different in August?

Where Gundy would be a good fit

Did Arky give Petrino a new motorcycle??  All we need to know for his longevity.

Hell yes! As an Arkansas and Texas grad I have to say this was long overdue. Back to the good ole days @Gerry Hamilton your move

Making Petrino the interim now effectively  guarantees his sponsors won’t be able to get him the permanent job.  This is a smart move be the AD to castrate Petrino and his supporters so he can’t make a play for the permanent gig.  Petrino as OC was forced on Sam Pittman last season by Petrino’s old supporters in Fayetteville, and they’ll now get the next 7 games to choke on that move.

Have to say, at times I have concerns about the Texas O-line the last few years.  I thought C. Flood was one of the best???  Seems like under achieved at times.  Especially last year.  Even though they made the play-off.  Hook 'em!

Was wondering when Sam would be fired.
