Minor setback for a major comeback! Texas will be fine ๐Ÿ™‚

Tough lost and Texas beat themselves today. There are some real positives from today! With that being said, Arch, Sark, and the wr core need to go back work and fix their issues. Arch missed balls all day,ย  Sarkโ€™s play calling left alot to desire, and the wr core was a no show mostly. Defense is STRAIGHT ELITE despite the penalties and broken coverage. Texas is still playoff caliber.ย

The positive I guess it that the gave was winnable, like you said, Texas beat themselves with penalties, bad misses (Arch), and poor play calling.ย  It wasn't a blow out, it was a close game to the now probably #1 team early in the season.ย  Also, the team knows what they need to work on in order to beat a good team, the next 3 games won't really tell us much because theoretically, the starters should not be playing in the 2nd half and resting.

My main issue is there was nothing remotely exciting about the offense/playcalling. Offense seems to lack speed. Defense and Boumeester will keep us in every game. Arch has to be much better than he was today.

Definitely a lack of explosive plays that we've gotten used to the past few years, outside of the Livingstone catch and I think one by Wingo, there weren't much.

Always good to have an optimistic attitude in life. As terrible as we were offensively, we had a chance at the end. Hopefully build some confidence and cohesion with the offense against some directional chumps.ย

I had a different opinion before the game. I wasnโ€™t sold on our defense against OhioState. Had hoped we could hold them to 420 yards or so. I also did not see any ability for us to run the ball. I was extremely pleased with the D and our run game. Two heavyweights being played on the road, sure would have wanted to win but damn, we basically made mistakes that kept us from winning. These can be fixed .
