Texas running backs CJ Baxter and Quintrevion Wisner were named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 Doak Walker Award, given annually to the nation's top college running back.

This marks Baxter’s second consecutive year on the list, and the duo becomes the third Texas RB pair in the past four years to earn preseason recognition.

Baxter, who missed the 2024 season due to injury, had a standout freshman campaign in 2023 with 659 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Wisner, a third-year player, led the team in rushing in 2024 with 1,064 yards and added 411 receiving yards, making him the only returning 1,000-yard rusher in the SEC.
