I'd be surprised if Napier gets fired. They have a pretty good squad and a really good QB/RB combo. I'd put money on Pittman being fired. Started off well at Arky but hasn't been able to continue that trend. I don't think OU is going to have a great year but I'm not sure what it would take it fire Venables.

Brent Brennan almost got fired after 1 year last year and they are going to suck this year.

That seems like a pretty safe bet. Pittman is probably close behind with the schedule lining up the way it does.

I have a tough time seeing an in-season firing for Venables since OU has a pretty manageable start to the season.

My money would be on Riley at USC.  Their boosters don't have much patience and they seem to be giving him money to get a good recruiting class.

Good point, but with potentially issues of sanctions, USC might be able to get away w/o a buyout.  All depends on what all happened and contract details of course.

That might be the factor that saves a few of the coaches on that list. I think Norvell is one of those, isn't his buyout too much?

If LSU and Florida struggle, they’ll find the buyout money for Kelly and Napier.

Who is the coach you would hate to see the Sooners replace Venables with? I dont want to see them right the ship, they deserve at least a decade of suffering

Mike Norvell's buyout at Florida State is currently $63.8 million if the university were to terminate his contract before its expiration in 2031. 

Thanks Blake, this is an interesting list......it seems like these guys fall into several categories:

A. Should never been hired to begin with:  Brennan, Foster, Locksley, Norvell  (These were "the best the AD could do with his budget)

B. Bless their hearts - "They don't have a fighting chance": Wilcox (Cal), Elliott (Virginia), Fickel (Wiscn), Pittman (Arky)

C. I Want Their Agent: Riley, Venables, 

D. Be Patient, wee hopper: Napier, Freeze, Stoops, Napier

E. No When To Exit Stage Left: Gundy (with the benefactor gone, OSU probably belongs in Category B)

Honorable Mention:  Any Board of Regents Chair that signed off on a ridiculous buyout deal.
