It's sad. Unfortunately, Chace Calicut isn't the first football recruit to jeopardize their otherwise bright future, and he won't be the last. With great power comes great responsibility.

Texas didn’t make the final push … just to be clear

Keep 👏🏻 anyone 👏🏻 associated 👏🏻with 👏🏻 Georgia 👏🏻away 👏🏻 from 👏🏻 cars 👏🏻

Not sure he’s “the best in Texas”, but definitely glad he’s leaving Texas.

He’ll be right at home in Athens, GA. Kirby should try soliciting bail bondsmen to contribute to UGA NIL. Would be a good investment for the bondsmen.

Wow! Someone in his circle needs to get in his ear. He may well lose a phenomenal opportunity that very, very few people get.

He probably isn’t leaving Texas unless they transfer him to a different correctional facility.

Not just chasing da bag. Unreal! Glad no one was hurt, and his 2 game suspension vs fcs opponents will be a life lesson.

Yep, somebody close to him needs to pull his head out of his ass.  This kid could improve the lives of everybody around him but instead he's decided to be a disappointment.  Very sad!

If anybody is curious who the guy on the right making the shooting gesture is- that’s UGA’s Safeties coach.

His recruiting pitch to the Best in Texas must have included promises to be his personal passenger seat gunman at the next level.

Kirby’s got that Urban Meyer culture going in Athens.

He isn't leaving Texas anytime soon  unless he busts out of jail !

Maybe why he's hiding that spare tire under his shirt.

Can’t comment on that- have one myself! 😂

Surprised they published names of 17 year olds ... in Arizona I think you have to be 18 before they name you in an article like this.

Puts a new spin on the phrase "we dodged a bullet" missing on this kid.

No kidding, we dodged a bullet. I thought that when he was wanting to play cornerback. North shore has had some issues over the years with some of their kids. Trying not to pigeon hole the bad apples with good kids. Ironic, all the problems had problems with driving, this pops up with a committed recruit going there.

Dodged a few by the sounds of it

Sark is a much better judge of character than Mack Brown was. Maybe this is the reason for recruiting nationwide to find kids with both the talent and character to sustain healthy college culture.

They’re probably being charged as adults. This is sad and very bad for Chase. Looks like the shooter in this case was subsequently killed in another shooting.
