Updated Rivals Top 100 2026 Texas Football Targets

Jermaine Bishop being ranked 275th by Rivals is absolutely comical. Do they have any idea what they're doing over there? Maybe it saves us some NIL money, though lol

What were the changes in their rankings?

Dia Bell was ranked # 8 QB and # 59 overall after their June 2 re-rankings.

No one does a worse job than Rivals of ranking players - they had TJ Shanahan the # 1 player in Texas and a 5* nationally a few years back, far higher than any other service, and that's about the time that 247 and On3 quit assigning Rivals a 25% slice of their Composites.  I think 247 now weights them 10% or something.

Here's a screen grab from their site this morning re: Dia.  I think they play 'follow the leaders' when it comes to reranking their mistakes late in the cycle.

I really hope Lee's parents realize that is a long flight to Ann Arbor.

Hope they realize a kid raised in Hawaii is gonna freeze his ass off in those Michigan winters

But now it's On3's staff driving it I believe...

#93: Malakai Lee, OT (Michigan)

Hope Texas is ready to pounce once those Michigan sanctions come through. No idea why any recruit is committing to Michigan while their investigation/punishment is still looming.

Except Rivals is now part of On3 which does a much better job.

Jermaine Bishop disagrees

Only reason they got it right with Dia is because they would have lost all credibility being the only site not having him as the number 1 QB. The rest of the list is trash. Rivals is a joke.

Dropping 200 spots without any real games being played is crazy.

There’s some other bad evaluations also but they should be better going forward.

you are absolutely correct on the first sentence.

Derrek Cooper falling from 12 to 123 is pretty insane too. There are not 7 RBs better than him in this class.

It’s ridiculous. Watch the friggin’ film.

If there are 20 better players than Bowman in this country, 28 better players than Fitzpatrick and 29 better than Atkinson, and 274 better than Jermain Bishop, I’ll eat a corn dog with mayo.

These recruiting rankings may drive me back into the business of ranking recruits.

All of this is just a joke.

Bobby teasing us again. Do it!

Maybe the ranking include a “signability” aspect - where if they are seeking above market, they get dropped. Value per dollar.

No way he chooses Michigan winters … no way big blue reaches the playoffs

Again, borderline ridiculous. Texas passed on multiple running backs Rivals has ranked ahead of Cooper.

What were his original rankings?

ESPN is currently 7th

247 is currently 39th

Rivals was 12th??

His composite before this drop was 30th. Given those above is expect his composite to be in the teens.

Was on3 originally 12th? His rivals before the split must have been higher in like the 90s or something. Now it’s looks like On3 doesnt do rankings anymore
