Derrek Cooper note

Texas remains in contact with the 5-star RB from Hollywood (Fla) Chaminade-Madonna.

The Longhorns simply want Cooper to make an OV during the season for a game weekend. 

Texas wanted him to make a weekend OV in June, but Cooper’s family didn’t want to cancel a weekend OV to schools that had been recruiting him 1.5-2 years. 

Cooper announced today on X that he will no longer be announcing a decision July 12. 

Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Texas in contention.

The home schedule isn’t the best for sure.

I kinda forget our home times but whatever the earliest night game is show him the drone show🙏

Doubtful because Thanksgiving weekend. It’s going be game when kicks occurs in the afternoon so the staff can spend more time with him and his family Saturday night.

Feels very Josiah Sharma-like.

Loved Texas following the OV weekend. NIL packages get pretty heavy around the decision timeline. Whether or not he ends up committing elsewhere on July 2, I still have a solid feeling about the Longhorns earning the signature.

For these big recruitments, Sark has mentioned a few times about wanting the early games for big recruiting weekends so they have more time postgame to spend with the prospects. We will see what they end up doing if Cooper decides to visit.
