I wish nothing but the best for all involved, personally and professionally. That's about all there is to say for me.

  • Can we get Ketch and Suchomel over here?

Bobby, I believe you were involved in the start of those companies. Any thoughts on this? Do you own a stake in either of those companies? I would be interested to hear your thoughts, especially on where the industry is headed. Thanks

Their YouTube content is nearly unwatchable, though they do have some good content on the website. The biggest problem with the OB site is not the writers or even some of the weird threads that always pop up. It is mainly the posters who can be complete and utter asses. For example, a poster asks a serious question and a dozen or more others will respond with childish stupid responses because they think they are funny. OTF is the best in the business, especially their video content. We are all lucky to have Bobby, Gerry, and the entire team on OTF.

Thanks for the kind words!

I would love for Bobby to get OTF on the On3 network since IT doesn't work well with others anyway.

IT was founded by Robert Heard.  In Webster's under "Curmudgeon" it says "See Robert Heard".   Its in their blood

Had to rid myself of IT because eric has a very bad habit to let his feelings override his ability to be professional so i was elated when bobby abandoned ship and created OTF.

I feel like Saban would say something like this. Gerry must be Bobby's Sarkisian. Now it all makes sense.

I don't understand why people get so worked up and get tribal with the different websites.  Thank goodness there are people like me who are above that nonsense.

Except for how I feel about Ketch.  I want to kick him in the groin.  Thanks for listening.... I feel better now.

I was on OB for about a decade.  I thought their discussion forum was top tier for most of that run, particularly the off topic threads.  There were always knowledgeable professionals chiming in, whether the topic was law, medicine, finance, business, or something else entirely.  Then it got taken over by a dozen or so high-volume sh*t posters and I no longer saw any value in it.  Their YouTube content is atrocious.

I'm still on IT but won't be renewing my subscription.  It's not that it's awful, but it's duplicative of OTF content, and I prefer Bobby and Gerry's no-nonsense approach.

I still have all 3, right now.  I feel the same way you do.

I think it’s because these forums carry an inherent sense of community for a lot of folks on them (heck, I feel it myself). In a very real sense, the different forums try to cultivate it in some sense too (the happy hours, tailgates, or live watches on YouTube).

I think that sense of community is awesome as a diehard Longhorn fan. It’s unfortunate that it gets “tribal” though and people feel the need to knock one site or another (often in an emotional, rather than rational, manner).

At the end of the day, my Longhorn fandom is more enjoyable getting to listen to dudes like Bobby, Gerry, CJ, Rod, or whoever else can enlighten me about football in general, how our program is doing, and player insights/evals.

Other sites got good dudes doing it too. We all Longhorns, so it’s all good 🤘🏼

Sense of community be darned. Ketch is just an immoral, bad dude, and Suchomel is his Azrael.

The only person that has NEVER had a negative word about other sites or their people is Bobby Burton. He let's his product do all the talking without being a narcissistic asshole.

Both IT and OB have too many as*hole posters who attack anyone who doesn’t agree with their view. Haven’t been on OB since 2010 and won’t renew IT.

CJV was a terrific addition to OTF, Blake knows baseball like no one else on the local scene, and the video site gains from having the irrepressible Rod and his guests.

TFB is not a true competitor to OTF or IT but its limited content is very professional - as it is run by an actual practicing football coach who knows the Texas high school scene from inside.  CJV came here from there.

Jeff Howe, the most recent addition, is insightful and measured.  I thank Bobby for putting all of this together.

I came to OTF because Gerry is the only real basketball voice around on these sites - and he has attracted Bierce and a few other knowledgeable commenters to make the hoops columns easily the best available.  I still follow BitterWhiteGuy's intermittent critiques, btw, but there was a time when BWG and Fred Haley were at SBN and I miss that.  Gerry and the gang here fill that place well.

I was on IT a few years ago.

Who are the posters still causing issues today? I might remember them
