Two Texas OL notes

Redshirt freshman center Daniel Cruz is having a very solid spring. On track to be a three year starter (2026-28).

Freshman OT Nick Brooks is well ahead of where Texas thought he would be. “Going to be a stud”. Those in Moncrief are very high on him … at tackle.

Could Brooks be the starting RT mid-season or is there belief that Baker/Cojoe can get it done?

Really hoping Baker can get it done because of his high school.  Like to see a pipeline there.

Man Flood recruits and develops some good linemen.  I don’t remember us having OLine recruiting like he does.  Alot more are going to start getting drafted.

I’m not sold on Hutson.

Ditto. He routinely gets mauled and shoved around. I wonder what is the staffs fascination with him.  He will most definitely be the weakest link on the oline and entire offense.

Portal candidate?

Wouldn’t be surprised if he does enter the portal.

The only advantage he has is game experience over the other center candidates.

Brooks is No. 2 at LT

Damn Gerry, confusing casuals with facts again!  Why you are respected in the industry.

🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🏿

Takes more than being big and strong to play strong.

Hutson looks good until he starts getting off balance. Solid bridge player until Cruz and Kibble are ready.

Hopefully he can help Neto be assignment sound out there too.

Is Cruz willing to sit another year before taking the reins?

The question is Cruz ready to be the starting center?

I’m with you….if Cruz beats him out, he should play.  Tired of the seniority crap

He was the lowest rated OL of the 7 guys we used heavily. Just because you have experience done mean it’s great.

Like I said the only advantage Hudson has is game experience never said  he was better.
