I think all of the loud and unfiltered a$m interest being reported was Beard and his agents putting pressure on Ole Miss to raise their commitment to Beard and the program.  a$m did as predicted and was supposedly going to offer another dumb big-$$$ contract.  Ole Miss blinked.  Beard stays in Oxford.

That was always the script, imo.

I also think Beard has his eyes on the Tennessee job when Barnes exits

I just read a short list not long ago of:

Brad Underwood

Chris Vans

Porter Moser

I'd say Underwood would tell them no. Vans and Moser would be more likely to say yes, right? Was Beard at the top of their board or just one of the guys they were kicking the tires on?

Uh at $7.5M, they were all in on Beard.  Willing to bet their new coach won't make nealy that much.

So is On Texas Basketball gonna stick around? 😎

I petition for this segment to be named “Hoops with Hamilton,” or “Buckets with Bobby,”

Beard final coaching gig is Tennessee.
sark had an opportunity to be head football coach at Tennessee & turned it down. He was waiting for Texas . Most everyone knew it was just a matter of time .

@Gerry Hamilton With word that Beard wanted to get back at Texas and beat them. What does CDC think of him? They looked friendly at SEC media days but maybe not so much…

Beard waiting on Tennessee. He’s happy at Ole Miss. making 5 million plus . Good NIL . Beard comfortable in Oxford.

If he's on a plane ... he's likely taking the job

Maybe it will just be his faux negotiator stepping off the plane to use A&M to get a raise from Charleston.

Will TexAgs be able to redirect the flight again?

Plane took a 40 minute pit stop, then it took off for Vegas.
