Chris Beard and Rodney Terry

Why would Beard leave his cushy, 5 mill a year, "no crazy expectations" Job at Ole Miss for the Aggies and their overinflated ego? He can sit back and wait until a true Tier 1 job (Kansas, NC) becomes open.

I'm not sure he gets one of those jobs ... Indiana wouldn't even entertain him. That shook him I was told

That's what caused A&M to become a threat.

As time goes on, maybe one of those hires him - we shall see.

But I'm watching Tennessee when Barnes hangs it up.

Dude took a big hit, and he would be smart to get to a few Sweet Sixteens and an elite 8 or two at Ole Miss before testing the waters again.  Only thing he can do is win and let everyone forget he bit his girlfriend in a drunken rage.

Days like today, it’s actually pretty fun to work with a bunch of Aggies. The extreme confidence in the morning has switched to moping about how they will never be relavent. You hate to see it.

I'm 71 and graduated from UT in '76 and '78. Never seen one at aggy-Land.

My bet is Steve Forbes or Chris Jans … if they can get them

2 of the names I mentioned on here the other day.

Beard played it perfectly. Used Aggie to get more $$ etc at Ole Miss. Had no intentions to go to the Sheep lol. Great move by a Texas Ex to stick it to Lil Bro  again🤣🤣

Not saying that he had completely no intention of going if the money was right, but I couldn’t ever imagine that dude doing whoops and being surrounded by the milkmen.

A&M with Trev Alberts as AD is a complete toxic mess that no tier 1 coach wants to join.   Why leave Ole Miss for the headaches at A&M?    Think Beard is using this as leverage for better deal and increased NIL commitment at Ole Miss?

This is exactly what I expected.   Chris Beard using threat of A&M job for raise / extension and expanded NIL resources to stay at Ol Miss.

CDC runs circles around Trev Alberts.  I hope Alberts is employed in College Station for a long long time.

This x100!!!

So is On Texas Basketball gonna stick around? 😎

I petition for this segment to be named “Hoops with Hamilton,” or “Buckets with Bobby,”

Beard would do whatever it took to get to the next level in his career and win a title.

He’s already burned the bridge at his alma mater, he has no loyalties other than his coaching mentors.

I think all of the loud and unfiltered a$m interest being reported was Beard and his agents putting pressure on Ole Miss to raise their commitment to Beard and the program.  a$m did as predicted and was supposedly going to offer another dumb big-$$$ contract.  Ole Miss blinked.  Beard stays in Oxford.

That was always the script, imo.

What if A&M had no other choice but to interview RT for the head job (I know they won’t but the thought is hilarious)

They'll hire Lutz/Byington/Jans long before that.  If they were really offering $7+M per year for Beard, then they will buy someone away from his current job.

But more importantly, you love to see it!
