I would want him if he was interested. Terrific offensive coach. Got to have an offensive maximizer these days in CBK IMO... he's that level.

Many coaches run a lot of the action the NBA teams do, but it's not a long list who can coach it in game (adjust, counters, etc..) .... he would be one. 

But hear he's fine in the NBA. 

He has a house in Austin, and loves the city. So he's been associated with the job prior, and Texas would hire him if he had interest. 

I believe it might be a little harder than we believe it should be. Coaches should be in line to come to Texas . I believe the way the Beard termination might give top quality coaches a reason to pause . Not arguing the right or wrong of the situation just realizing Texas didn’t let due process play out . Beard didn’t get due process. At least that’s the way it seemed. I

if RT is replaced I hope we make every effort to get the best coach available. The musical chair in men’s basketball is preventing Texas from being competitive in SEC . Is that were we want to be . I think not.

needs to be someone that takes the football fan  who doesn’t care about basketball unless they are good type of coach

Talent evaluator to be able to pull dawgs from the portal. I kinda like a guy that has a little bit of hardass in him. This helps to get your team to come out and play high level defense. The IU thing is strange. They weren't anything before Bobby Knight, and they haven't been anything since Bobby Knight.

Most coaches understand how highly publicized their job is and wouldn't put themselves in the situation Beard did.

Emotional circumstances often lead people to act strangely.

Quin Snyder may be more realistic than people think. He’s not tearing it up in Atlanta. Coaches get fired quickly in that league or the seat gets hot.

I could see Drew going to Indiana. He’s from the state I believe. Could be a dream job of sorts. I think he’s maxed out and getting a little stale at Baylor. He had an incredible run there.

Would y’all think Beard coming back if inquired?

I can't think of another program that's only one a title under one coach.

I mean, yes Coach Knight is a huge part of our history, but 2 of our 5 National Championships came before him.  We have one national runner up since he left. 

Basketball does mean more in Indiana.  We have like 7 of the largest high school gyms in the world.  It's a cultural thing like football is to Texas.  You are king of Indiana when you are the coach at IU and have good things going.

Why? Beard is an alcoholic who assaulted his fiancé. Texas did the right thing.

Florida.  Anybody else was either before UCLA's run or a team that has won only one title. 

Unless you want to count Louisville, since Krum won two in the 80s, and the Pitino coached team had its title vacated.

That's considered a blue blood, but I think that was understood. I don't think Florida is considered a blue blood in basketball. I guess Duke is, but they won more than a few over a long period of time under Coach K. I see now that Indiana won two way before Knight. Thus my point is muted.

There is more strangeness to the Indiana story.  When Indiana was selected to host early rounds in the NIT near the end of Crean's tenure, the AD refused to allow Indiana to host a game, claiming an NIT game would diminish the legacy of Assembly Hall.  This proved to be nothing more than a jerkwad move to denigrate the coach.  Assembly Hall was previously the venue for Indiana's first three NIT games in 1985 under Bobby Knight. 

Indiana still thinks itself as all that, when it clearly isn't, but the team has played well since Woodson announced he is stepping down. 

I heard Shaka is being considered.

Woe is him, he made an incredibly selfish and idiotic decision. Texas had no choice and were 100% correct in firing him. He’s lucky he’s not in prison, much less coaching in the SEC.

What happened was he was facing 10 years in prison but his fiancée chose not to support the prosecution.

His girlfriend realized her meal ticket was about to expire if she didn't recant. So, she did. Why is anybody even considering "if" Beard came back? He's not. He was the perfect choice at the time, what hapenned hapenned and here we are.
