You might be better than me at it. I make a comfortable living, but I'm not willing to risk others' money. Plus I don't want to get a broker's license.

Sounds more like motivation than ethics.

  • I'm not at all worried about funding a buyout for Terry.  I'm worried about getting the right new guy.

Terry had no skins on the wall when Texas made an emotional hire. He didn’t prove it at Fresno State or UTEP, and many questioned the hire. Part of coaching at Texas is energizing the boosters and fan

We also didn’t get Tre Johnson, Mark and all the transfers with poor NIL so perhaps not that accurate that basketball won’t be competitive.  Pretty sure we can match NIL of Marquette and Miss St.  to

Motivation isn't a consideration in my view. I trade what I want.

Nor should ethics, sport.

The ethics is I can't guarantee profit. I remember a financial advisor telling me I couldn't expect more than five percent a year. I told him the market advances more than that per year. He told me to open a Fidelity account and trade on my own then. That's what I did.

Neither can Warren Buffett.

Perhaps it would be unethical for you to manage money. Doesn’t mean that tag should apply to others.

I'm not talking about others.

Good.

I was taught to not worry about others. I don't care about Warren Buffett. I care about what I know.

Good means nothing to me. You can say whatever. I know nothing about Beard. You don't either.

Does anyone know the geopolitical ramifications of Chicago style vs NY style pizza?

Chicago style is a casserole.

the tone of the comments towards Strong, Shaka and Terry when they’ve not been successful is revealing in itself.

This comment reveals your stupidity.

Not a good post. Texas is top 15 all time in tourney appearances and all time wins. That’s not a crap program.

Texas has been consistently pretty good to good with an occasional great team. Terry has been average. his entire career. Top 15 out of over 300 programs in D1 isn’t average. This program has put a lot of guys in the NBA over the last 20 years.

Very few difference makers in the nba and have rarely contended for a title.

Just a top 20 player all time, multiple all-star caliber players, etc. But sure!

Are they as revealing as those towards Mackovic, Brown, Herman and Pierce?

Absolutely. The difference in how folks called to fire them vs the other 3 is the revelation. Maybe even more instructive to the point because people really started to dump on Herman after he openly supported BLMs and they saw  him as “woke”.

Is what it is.

lol. KD is under very few. Caliber was cute. It’s really silly to try to argue that Texas has a historically great program. It just isn’t. The comment was made because folks are acting like Texas is owed Pop or Phil. We want to get there but haven’t been and aren’t now.

You can have your opinions but Texas is a top 15-20 program in terms of wins. It is what it is....unfortunately we haven't had the deep tourney runs we'd have liked(thanks a lot Melo) and a loaded USC team. You looking at programs through historical lenses in the NIL era is something. Oklahoma/Alabama football are struggling right now to keep up in that era.

So we’re A&M in basketball. Great point.

Thank you for being cordial while having different view.
