Beard was fired on January 5th.  Someone had to coach that team to the Elite 8.  Like it or not, that coach was Rodney Terry.

I liked it fine but I haven’t liked much of anything Rodney Terry has accomplished with the team since

  • I'm not at all worried about funding a buyout for Terry.  I'm worried about getting the right new guy.

Terry had no skins on the wall when Texas made an emotional hire. He didn’t prove it at Fresno State or UTEP, and many questioned the hire. Part of coaching at Texas is energizing the boosters and fan

We also didn’t get Tre Johnson, Mark and all the transfers with poor NIL so perhaps not that accurate that basketball won’t be competitive.  Pretty sure we can match NIL of Marquette and Miss St.  to

Once that mugshot was released to the public it was over.  Opposing fans were gonna have that mugshot at every arena Texas visited for a long time.  He would’ve never heard the end of it.  But because he’s at lil ol Mississippi people don’t give a darn about him anymore.

Are we living in a woke state here?

It’s shows what a national brand Texas is. Every school in the country is working on getting better and trying to win games but every single one of them have one eye peeled on what Texas is doing…..in every sport. You’re right, once that picture in the jumpsuit came out it was over. Most places would have kept him, but CDC didn’t want the negative publicity that was going to go with keeping him.

Was that ever proven? Last I chekced, Sark had problems in the past that wouldn't look good for teenagers or young adults. How many angels coach college basketball?

He violated his contract and was fired for cause.  It didn’t need to be proven in court.

If that's the standard, we have what we deserve.

Our football coach showed up drunk for work at USC. He deserved another chance. He's proven himself. My point is that Beard wasn't worse.

Then why did CDC hire him?

I copied this from a few weeks ago.......

The University of Texas had just fought a long PR battle over the Eyes of Texas and the dust had finally settled between all the parties involved. IMO this played a factor in Terry being named HC. The only reason? no. A factor in the decision? yes. The blowback had they gone a different direction wasn't worth it.

Yeah I prefer my coaches to not embarrass the university.  Seems like a pretty low bar.

Sark’s past never involved legal trouble or a mugshot.

The bar for being a head coach at Texas is to not put yourself in a position where you could possibly be arrested the morning of a game. Is that asking for too much? Congrats to him that the fiancé didn’t want to cooperate which forced the charges to be dropped.

We're dealing with pansies.

And guess where he got that second chance? Not at USC.

Where's USC in football now?

True. Just don't believe that Texas isn't competitive in NIL or resources for basketball. Plenty of schools without anything close to Texas resources that are better.

Who? Let me just state my expectations. Consistently finishing in the top half of the SEC. Mississippi State has a higher NIL. A&M’s top six players include four players that have been together three years. That’s unheard of in today’s world. Texas Tech is in the top ten. JT Toppin.

Texas doesn’t deserve anything. No one is entitled. Yall act like Texas has a great basketball history. Terry is about where we’ve been overall as a program. No one has been the answer and hasn’t shown that he can be but the tone of the comments towards Strong, Shaka and Terry when they’ve not been successful is revealing in itself.

Yall still suckling at the teat of beard are an embarrassment. All of us are responsible for our own actions. Period. But as long as he can win games, amirite?

Not a good post. Texas is top 15 all time in tourney appearances and all time wins. That’s not a crap program.

Texas has been consistently pretty good to good with an occasional great team. Terry has been average. his entire career. Top 15 out of over 300 programs in D1 isn’t average. This program has put a lot of guys in the NBA over the last 20 years.

I'm a zeta. I just served on a jury last week. Everything I hear here is the opposite of what I was told by the judge to do there.
